Data Shows that the Stimulus Package Was a Waste of Money

Reading Bastiat should be mandatory for anyone running for office.

What Obama, Reid, Pelosi, and the rest of the gang don't want to admit to themselves, is that they money they're spending, even though it's inflated out of thin air by Bernanke and the counterfeiters, is still sucking real value out of the economy and misdirecting resources away from wealth-creating activities, and into wealth-destroying activities.

Keynes was proven wrong in the 1930s, and every time since then when power-grabbers have tried to "stimulate" an economy through government spending, the results have been the same. If it were possible to improve an economy this way, Zimbabwe would be the richest country on earth.

Obama and team may not have found the perfect answers, for jobs, the economy, etc., but I'd prefer them to the No Party of McCain and nasty Boehner, who pushed us into the biggest [and borrowed !$$] blunder in US history, the Iraq War.

The GOP put a weak Congressman in charge of the SEC and we see how they let Madoff, etc. get away with murder for years. They [along with Gen. McCrystal] lied about the friendly fire death of Pat Tillman for purely political reasons, to not hurt their warmongering.

The Iraq War will end up, after decades of interest, costing the average US family at least $ 30,000 !!

So don't spin me any Republican baloney about being responsible or frugal!

I am disappointed in the current health care reform bill, but only as it has become a give-away to the greedy insurance and drug firms. Giving too much compromise to egotistical fools like Lieberman [who should join the GOP].

Hey, I'm just sitting back and absorbing all of you frothing Pete Roff enablers.

Fools.

Roff is just looking for an increase in readership; an upswing in notoriety, and you are all giving him exactly what he wants.

Look, it's not about the issues, its about generating attention and spin for this guy and his leash holders at U.S. news. Pete's counting on saving his job by selling the sizzle, not the steak.

Wake up America unless you'd rather have Pete think on your behalf.

Argue and fight about this issue all you want people, the bottom line is, you've been had by a guy who's doing nothing more than taking the pulse of his potential readership.

Listen, I'm sick of this crap, I'd gladly form a movement that rails against media inanity, hyperbole and centrism, and gives an open voice--without professional or career preservation bias--to the issues at hand and presents same in an objective and unbiased manner.

Cancel Pete Roth and his agenda.

Google blogdai and let's figure out a new approach together.

The Obama Administration promised that if the first stimulus bill passed, unemployment would not go over 8%. Well, it did anyhow because they didn't know how bad it really was. Okay.

The "cash for clunkers" money mostly went to Japan instead of creating American jobs. Sure, who was to guess that either?

Money for windfarms went to Chinese manufacturers. Who would have even guessed?

What are they doing with health care? They don't know, but they do know they need something passed so they will have "credibility".

As for Global Warming, they really think they know this time for sure but it seems like none of them have actually been outside recently. My guess is that they don't really know again.

Every time that they don't know, they spend an enormous amount of money. How are they going to pay for all of this? My guess is that they don't really know and they don't really care.

IF you want to climb up while you are sliding down hill, you first have to stop sliding down, then you start climbing. If you cut your hand, you first stop the bleeding, then let it heal. You can't put a band aid on your cut and expect it to heal completely in 5 minutes or 5 hours. It may take as many as 5 days.

Similarly, first we work on reducing layoffs, then stop layoffs, then work on getting people hired. You have to create jobs to prevent layoffs. People are laid off because there are no work for them in their company.

Now, on to the root cause.

The root cause of outsourcing is greed at the top levels of companies. They want to show big savings, so that the execs can take home millions in bonuses. So scream at the greedy execs, not at the hard working poor but smart people in India and China. They themselves and their parents worked hard and earned a good education to qualify for the jobs they are doing.

Cheap labor in India and China makes things affordable here for ordinary people in this country. Why do I see only people from Mexico doing lawn maintenance work? Those too are jobs, but no one else want to do it. No one really want to work, but complain and expect all good things handed to them in a platter. Go to school, study your lessons, and compete in the job market.

Can't you see that without the stimulus the job loss would have been even greater? The biggest error the dems made was to underestimate the severity of the economic consequences of our deb t driven fake prosperity of the last 15 years. This and future stimuli will at best kept the angry masses pacified until we can pay down our public and private debt

nice to see how he's announcing the 'failure' a year in advance of the projections.. gimeeabreak...

I think the title says all I really need to express here. Seriously, did anyone believe that with the passage of a bill over night jobs would be created? Thats obtuse at best! It takes time for things to turn around. Repost in Decemeber 2010, with how it actually turned out.

"Maybe the Dems aren't doing what they promised. Show me a politician who HAS completed EVERYTHING they promised in the last 200 years. On either side!"

Remember what the GOP did in the first 100 days after regaining control of Congress in 1994? probably not. Do you remember how the US did between 1994 and 2006? don't see a connection yet?

Remember what the DNC did in the first four years after regaining control of Congress in 2006? It's called a big, massive recession, plus increasing the ceiling of the national public debt by trillions.

Roff is also the former Political Director of GOPAC, the political committee once headed by House Speaker Newt Gingrich. In that venue, Mr. Roff was a frequent commentator on politics and culture for MSNBC and the Fox News Channel." [1]

Roff said in an August 2000 interview, that "he was responsible for training thousands of political candidates across the country."
