Global Warming E-Mails Scandal Show Scientists May Have Cooked the Facts

Dr. Pitruzzello:

How can we check the science if the scientists cannot be trusted to give factual, unbiased data. Did you check with the CRU to find that this is a "no brainer"? This is the problem when we let science be coopted by politics. We cannot trust the answers from the scientists because there is no credibility there now.

You argument about natural power and fossil fuels polluting the planet are specious in my opinion. Fossil fuels ARE natural power, and while the pollute the planet, do we really know that they are greatly contributing to global warming? Mt. St. Helen's eruption in 1980 spewed more pollution in the air than mankind has put there cumulatively, yet all the effects have long been eradicated in our atmosphere.

Anytime we look at the warming of the Earth and we are told to ignore the effects of the sun and the ocean, one has to be suspicious.

I suppose the point is that we have no real way of "checking the science" because the issue has been turned into an emotion driven political issue.

How are fossil fuels any less a "natural power" than "nuclear, solar, wind, and tidal?" And, does "tidal" include generation from water flows (hydro-electric)?

The U.S., due to hype and hysteria, has essentially given up on nuclear energy and can find no solution to overcome the NIMBY-ism that prevents local implementation of many alternative sources. We have to give up on the scare tactics and develop true transitional plans that allow weaning of one dependency while creating another.

It's a no brainer...

Check the science.

Humans cause global warming. We need to stop burning fossil fuels to make electricity. Nuclear (short term), solar, wind, and tidal are the answer. Use the natural power of the planet to create our electricity, NOT the fossil fuels that are poluting our environment and will eventially run out.

The causes of the global warming have been in work for a long time and slowly it has caused the increase in the temperature. The satisfactory fact is that at least now the governments of various countries and its people have started to understand that they are one of the causes for the global warming.

Congress is holding hearings to discuss geoengineering (weather modification)plans to save us from global warming! Looks like the real agenda is weather control, global warming was just the ruse1

Hey Jonathan...

Too funny. "you neolibs" fall for everything.

What kind of liberal nonsense are you going to spout off at "you neocons" on that one?

Mike of AZ 6:00PM January 26, 2010

Let me put it simply for the idiots that still think we are causing global warming. An earth 3.8 billion years goes through cycles like everything else. This magnificient planet (that believe it or not, ALL people believe in taking care of) Like the seasons, climate changes...it warms, cools and heals.

Anyone remember the 70's when Al Gore was too busy creating the internet to create his global warming hoax? At that time, just a microsecond ago compared to the age of the planet, we were doomed to an unstoppable ice age!!!! It's like saying you're going blind because you just blinked!

It's simple, some people make a lot of money and gain a lot of power if their global warming scare gets enough gullible followers.

Wake up America. You don't socialize energy based on science fiction! Science is facts, not hand picked scientist concensus. We continue to see the libs buying votes, results, and supressing facts. Take of the blinders!

I think global warming is real, but there is nothing we can do to stop it, and we shouldnt worry about it... because we will be long gone before it affects us

jessica grose of WV 2:34PM December 15, 2009

Lets get this straight, a couple of hackers STEAL emails, quote mine a few of these personal emails, change the original meaning of each email, and you guys think that it is the PhD Scientists who are in charge of a conspiracy?

Just look at how gullible you neocons are:

1. "trick...hide the decline"; you neocons think that means they used a trickery to hide a decline in instrumental temperature data. The real context is that temperature proxy data, specifically tree ring proxy data, diverged from the more accurate instrumental data, so the scientists stopped using it in their calculations after 1960. This was openly admitted, and there has already been discussions in the peer reviewed journals about why the proxy data diverged. Where is the conspiracy?

2. "...it is a travesty we can't" You neocons think this is a case of a scientist secretly admitting the end of global warming. In reality, the particular scientist was trying to persuade others to put up a more accurate satellite to measure sea surface temperature, i.e. it is a travesty that we are not getting accurate data. Where is the conspiracy?

3."...keep those two papers out of the IPCC report" In reality, the two papers mentioned in the email were cited, referenced, and discussed in the IPCC report. If the writer of that email was trying to get a conspiracy going, he wasn't successful.

This just goes to show you that you neocons are a bunch of gullible loons; something should click in your brain when fox news and Rush Limbaugh are saying the same stuff as Alex Jones...

Face it, Anthropogenic Global Warming is real and we MUST do something about it.
