Voters Have Spoken: Stop Bailouts and Fix the Economy

What the Obama administration is doing, is exactly what should be done if the goal is more and more government control, along with destroying the economy and jobs!

They know what they are doing, changing the great capitalist system of America into a European style social welfare state... along with Soviet style central planning.

They must be stopped at the ballot box!

Once they've been bailed out with our money, and maybe repaid the money, these corporations will just continue to do business as usual. In less than three years, we'll just have to bail them out again. The only way to end their idiocy is to let them go under. Especially Bank of America and AIG! They will be replaced, eventually, once their gone. Hopefully, the people at the new companies will have learn't a lesson, and will be more careful. AND HANG ON--WE HAVEN'T SEEN THE WORST OF THINGS YET!

Ah, yes, the voters have spoken yet again. It's the economy again, stupid.

What I want to know is why the voters haven't spoken about this: more deaths by shooting, this time at Fort Hood tomorrow who knows where? The deaths of innocents by those who misuse their right to own guns is epidemic in America, yet the voters never speak on it.

How come, Americans? How many more deaths of innocents by shooting will it take for you to push this issue as eagerly as you push so many others through your votes, marches, and even civil disobedience?

As an immigrant, I wish to point out that every year one million legal immigrants, at least half a million illegal migrants, plus hundreds of thousands of “guest workers” continue to enter the U.S. Many of these foreign-born people will also have children born in the U.S. Although some immigrants are assets to the U.S., do President Obama, Congress and other American leaders realize that more people essentially means more jobseekers, patients, students, welfare recipients, polluters?

Because of they are mostly low-skilled, most newcomers do not pay enough taxes to cover various social services rendered to their families. We must also work on reducing teen pregnancies, which total 750,000 a year!

Instead of enacting some sort of immigration moratorium so that we will have a chance to substantially lower unemployment and achieve sensible healthcare reform, President Obama and many members in Congress are misleading Americans with “comprehensive immigration reform” -- amnesty for possibly 20 million illegal migrants and massive guest worker visas . If this “reform” is enacted, it could add 200 million U.S. and foreign-born relatives of legalized people and “guest workers” to the U.S. over the next 20 years!

It is high time that American leaders stopped buying their heads in the sand.

Please forgive the lack of sophistication in my reasoning processes , syntax & punctuation, but isn't having a JOB- that either includes a company plan or spending part of the income from that JOB on coverage from a private insurer the ideal we strive toward ?

"Any fair person will agree Bush/Cheney left the next President a Mountain of Problems! A Real MESS!!!"

I'm fair and yes there was a mess left when Bush/Cheney exited office.

As long as you don't place blame on their actions I'll agree with you.

"From Iraq to Afgan., energy, schools, going from paying down the debt to terribly increasing it, vast economic area's like housing and manufacturing dropping like rocks, increasing umemployment, Wall St. and other corruption, and the list goes on and on "

1. Congress approved and funded Iraq to Afgan, so who's to blame ? I know Bush was given wrong information and relayed that to Congress. Did Congress ask CIA about the bad advise ??? I don't recall that. So forget that one. Being fair and all. Unless your saying Bush lied. In that case prove it.

2. Energy ??? Not very specific Steve. Do you mean gas jump in price. Can't be President doesn't set that. So without specifics, must dismiss to be fair, right Steve !

3. School ? Same as last Steve.

4. Paying down the debt. Debt acuminate when in wars Steve. Takes time for Wall Street to pay back loans. Wall Street is now paying back Bush's loans. So Steve being fair, not a point.

5. Housing. Now Steve you ought to know better. That's not Bush's fault. Is it 2005 when Bush and McCain warned of economic meltdown ??? Plenty of videos of that. Bush discussed need for regulation of Fanny and Freddy. Steve let's pretend you didn't mention this one, ok. Was good old Barney Frank, head of the Committee who said all was well. He did not say that just because he was sleeping with guy in one of those companies did he. Or continue Democrat vote-getter plan. Wasn’t Acorn involved ?

6. Manufacturing. How did Bush cause problem here. What did he do ??? He lowered taxes. That helps.

7. Unemployment. Same question. How did he cause ? Housing did turn economy up-side down. From Jimmy Carter to Bill Clinton they believed in home ownership for poor. That in itself is good. Where the problem occurred is loans that were bad. Unqualified buyers. Lower or no down-payments. Job history and the big one adjusted interest rate (sub-prime). When interest rates went up the house of cards collapsed. There is a famous Bill Clinton law that was the final curtain call here. None of this has Bush name on it. Sorry Steve.

8. Wall St. and other corruption. Now Steve this is down right insulting you mentality. Show a connection guy !!! There are committees that watch over regulators. Not President.

9.lists goes on and on.

Bring it on Steve. You've proved nothing man. Bush bashing is popular. Where you get into trouble is giving details.

Roff's Fox Channel-like jump at a fuzzy analysis of the week's election is funny, and I'd say high schoolish but that's insulting at least a million that could write more accurately.

The two, repeat, two, not 10, or 20, governor's races primarily spun on local issue's, and that the Dem's running simply had personal problems. No doubt perhaps a few per cent did show up to voice anger at Obama, but these wacko's showed up for Phony Palin last year and they are hopeless.

And oddly enough many of those angry at Obama would be at any Democrat, like Hillary, just because their Fox Channel brain-washed them. Not to rationally think through and oppose, but to rant and yell like drunken hillbilly's at the drop of a pin!

Any fair person will agree Bush/Cheney left the next President a Mountain of Problems! A Real MESS!!! Or MESS'S !!! From Iraq to Afgan., energy, schools, going from paying down the debt to terribly increasing it, vast economic area's like housing and manufacturing dropping like rocks, increasing umemployment, Wall St. and other corruption, and the list goes on and on ......

Since Obama and team have apparently saved the US from another Republican Depression they deserve credit and more time. And we should give the public option a chance since insurance crooks like Rick Scott show they can not be trusted.

crazy people in crazy economy time of CA

How stupid. Twist bad people actions to fit your agenda. If you can't justify your position say bad things will happen if not implimented.

In war there is friendly fire. In Aerica people will murder. With or without a unemplyment chech or univerasal health care.

Your "people can't get their unemployment check end up like this guy" is asinine.

I know there are adjustments to the numbers.

My best answer is this. Unemployment announced today at 10.2 %. However, there are people who either stopped looking or ran out of benefits. Some say the real unemployment number is 18%.

Some lucky souls found a jobs.

I respectfully disagree. It's not about tax break incentives. I agree that, as Americans, we feel gouged ever time we turn around. But a company is not going to say, "Hey, let's hire three more workers because we get a tax break." If they can't move product and services that their is no one to employe.

I believe companies will hire once they burn through inventories and/or consumers start purchasing. In short, companies have to return to productivity as fast as possible. It's about stimulating demand on the front line.

You want to create demand, stimulate the economy, create jobs, then protect American producers from foreign competition. Erect tariffs and non tariff barriers, get tough on immigration and eliminate low wage illegal migrant workers. Create an across the board tax cut to consumers to put more money in pockets to purchase more.

Here in Idaho, we have several dams built in the 1900's that are in need of repair and replacing. Breach old dams and rebuild new ones in ways that puts the maximum number of people back to work (ie wheelbarrows instead of trucks, shovels instead of backhoes, ropes and pulleys instead of cranes).

Alaska could use a road from Barrow AK to Fairbanks or Anchorage. Put some people to work to build it with shovels and picks.

The railroads are in serious disrepair, rebuild them with massive work gangs.

There are levies on the Mississippi River and/or New Orleans that could be rebuilt.

There is massive tracks of federal land in several states that, with canals and clearing could grow crops to feed millions or corn for ethanol. There is a fence that needs to be completed on our southern boarder.

There are thousands of square miles of mountains in Idaho that can be planted in trees for future generations.

I don't know why it is so difficult when there are myriad opporutnities to get people back to work. It is really just a failure on the part of politians to get of their lazy butts and implement some ideas.
