Made rich and powerful by organized crime. Made millions upon millions from bootlegging. And to this day, they make a dollar off of EVERY imported bottle of scotch. WHY? Why are they still making money off of this after more than 70 years?

Killed a women in the prime of her life, then lied about it

Was a complete and utter drunk (by his own admission)

Had multiple affairs on his wife

turned his back on his church for political gain

treated women as sex objects his entire adult life

never worked an honest day in his life, living an elitist lifestyle on daddy's money

was the worst enemy the unborn child ever had

TED KENNEDY WAS A MAN OF NO SUBSTANCE AND YET THE LIBERALS ADORE HIM. THIS SHOWS THAT JUST LIKE KENNEDY, LIBERALS HAVE NO MORAL COMPASS WHATSOEVER.

How funny that the conservatives who promote ME above WE are playing such a pity party because there is no overwhelming tide to praise the self centered. Well maybe you should hold your own LESS is better values to your fawning as well. Maybe if there were more protection of the weak and powerless you would find a wider audience to give you kudos. But instead the conservative is more of a shill for the "what have you done for me lately" dominate and powerful. And that makes being garland with praise a little distasteful.

There have been some really good comments here about

Peter Roff's Conservative bias.

Like Rush Limbaugh, and Sean Hannity, Peter Roff's job is to try to

demonize the non-conservatives. Thats what he gets paid to do.

Lets look into Peter Roff's life for just a moment.

Peter Roff's sits in his little apartment

thinking, thinking, thinking.....

Oh how can I make the Liberal's look bad today?

Hmmm???? Dam the cat barfed

up on this months copy of Genre magazine! Thinking, thinking, thinking...Hmmmm????

I know! I will say all Liberal's are two faced! What should I use for the title?

I know! "Why Are Dead Conservatives Fair Game But Dead Liberals Canonized?".

Damm, I'm out of Whiskey and its only 8am and the rents due. I only get payed by the

word... This job really sucks. I hope they never find out I'm a Liberal.

Lets now join Rush the Lush Limbow, and Sean Hannutty who live together in their large

stately mansion. Oh, Sean I'm cooking dinner tonight for that little

French soirée evening party we are having with Glen Beeck and his partner, but I cant seem to

open this jar of pickles. Can you help me, why yes Rush dear let me help you.

Oh thank you Sean, you are just so big and strong.... Sean? Yes Rush? I was thinking

maybe we should give some money to the log cabin Republicans this year. Rush we have

had this conversation before. I know, but... There are times Sean when its just

so difficult being a Republican. Yes, its true, look at what happened to

poor old Sen. Larry Craig.

I think Mr. Roff has been cherry-picking the glowing remembrances of Mr. Kennedy. The ceremony I remember most vividly is from the 9/12 march organized by Glen Beck and Fox News. There were many professionally printed signs at the march that read, "Bury Healthcare with Ted Kennedy". At one point, a group of "9/12-ers" put one of the signs on the ground and covered it with horse dung. They were so proud of what they had done, they took a picture and posted it on their blog.

I support those protestor's freedom of speech, as offensive and distasteful as it is to me. I don't agree with those who would malign Mr. Safire, either, but it is no harsher treatment than Mr. Kennedy received. It appears our country has entered a state of uncivil disagreement. Let us pray it does not become civil war.

It's deeds and character. That's the reason, not party afiliation. Reagan for example once admitted to a belief in aliens at a time when doing so invited a lot of ridicule. Then liberals like Mr. Kennedy worked hard to help the sick and downtrodden.

Here's the problem: You're quoting from a blog about William Safire and comparing it, I suppose, to mainstream coverage of Ted Kennedy's death. I, however, read many negative things about Ted Kennedy after his death, on many websites-- conservative and liberal. Mainstream television and newspaper coverage was certainly generally positive, but I haven't seen much mainstream coverage of Mr. Safire's death that has been negative either. You're comparing apples and oranges. And, not for nothing, I read many statements of regret from liberals who thought Mr. Safire was an admirable and thoughtful man. I read no similar statements from conservative websites on the passing of Mr. Kennedy.

And I honestly don't know what you were reading, because I found the coverage of McNamara's death focused extensively on his failure in Vietnam, and not wrongly. It was an important part of his life, and his legacy.

Mr. Roffs' question is rhetorical, of course. Dead liberals are canonized by the media because the media IS liberal and is owned by liberals. Simple as that!
