Democrats Want to Keep the People in the Dark on Healthcare Reform

I know the GOP wants the resrt of us to all believe that they are this righteous group of super Christians but clearly this is not the case.

Christians have never EVER condoned hatred among people. It is not at all morale to refuse to listen to the consitutuents and to drown out thei voices of the public with rantings of survivalist, KKK types. This would be a pretty sad state for the Christian community to be in.

Those at these groups cannot possibly claim a higher morale platitude for their antics as their antics are basically evil in the desire to cause harm to innocents. It is not Christian or any other organized religious theme to promote hatred and meaningless babble that just means to further limit the freedoms of the working class. A few very wealthy individuals have found an audience in the far "wrong" wing of their party to bus to events and show their signs of hatred, intolerence and lack of education. These people are being used and they are not bright enough to understand that!

If the GOP and their new-found "masculinism" continues on this path of destruction, what will be left of them? When these people cannot even understand the concept that they would be better off and keep more of their hard-earned dollars under most reform packages (except the one that wants to continue subsidizing big Pharma and insurance companies), how can we expect them to understand their leaders are using them to promote redistribution of wealth-from the working class to the ultra-rich?

The people who showed up for the town halls were bible-thumping, gun-toting nutjobs--the American Taliban contingent. The kind of people that are euphemistically known as "the salt of the earth" because they have the IQ of an empty salt shaker. They comprise a very vocal and very small minority of the American public. Their sideshow freak antics this August drew television cameras like flies to excrement, so people enthralled by the constant vapid blather of cable news may have been fooled into thinking there were more of them than there are. The dumb ones, anyway. If these people were so well informed, why were they screeching about "death panels" and a "government takeover of health care", neither of which appear in any of the four bills that had left committee at the end of July?

The fact is the Republicans care more about regaining political power than they do the lives of the American people. It is more important to hand a defeat to Obama than to save the 40,000 people who die because they cannot afford health care and the 400,000 people that are forced to file for medical bankruptcy each year. All the so-called negotiations have been nothing but delaying tactics on the part of the right. No amendment put forward by a Republican can be taken at face value when each politician fancies himself the Duke of Wellington at Obama's Waterloo.

The extent of reform is what's in question.

Seems easiest to simply handle health ins. the same as auto and home ins.. You have a bad risk, you simply assign them to an insurance co. - Assigned Risk (gee, what a concept). Also, make a no frills, basic policy available to the working poor who currently can't afford insurance and don't qualify for public assistance. Throw in a dash of tort reform - saves money and ticks off the trial lawyers - sweet.

It's really simple - No mega plan needed.

Maybe they didn't hear the people this summer- we already know they can't read- maybe they can't hear also.

When is the next March on Washington?????

The government has given all our money (what was left of it) to the banks and the ceo's and now want us to make up the difference by "reforming" health care and social security. We will end up paying more and getting much less as usual. Obama talks the talk but does not walk the walk. Watch what he does, not what he says....
