Peter .. WTF was this phrase? "according to a number of knowledgeable critics " Name those critics because all the critics that I have seen are partisan hacks that have the legal and economic skills of a 3rd grader.

HR3200

Sec 246 ... bans any federal money for illegals under the program

http://energycommerce.house.gov/Press_111/20090714/aahca.pdf

pg 143

The fact is that in 2003 Republicans passed and Bush signed the the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003, which contained Sec. 1011 authorizing $250 million annually between 2003 and 2008 for government reimbursements to hospitals who provide treatment for uninsured illegal immigrants.

BTW, Joe Wilson and Republicans overwhlmingly voted for this bill to pay illegals medical costs in 2003.

There is your hypocrisy.

Wilson was wrong to say that when he did.

But I dare anyone to deny was right, not about when he said it, what he said. HR3200 clearly states in the bill that Illegal Aliens will not ne covered under this plan, But the bill does not change the current law about people showing up to an Emergency room cannot be turned away. So, yes H.R. 3200 will cover illegal aliens in the event of an Emergency. Also Since they know this illegal aliens will continue to go to the emergency room for headaches and stomach viruses. Now One thing which is true is HR3200 is not a bill yet, still. So everything can still be changed. We need to improve our HealthCare system drasstically but I am firm believer that we should try some obvious cost cutting factors before we scrap our system completely for a new system. As for defensers of the President's speech he is either lying or he is simply speaking from wishful thinking or no thinking. There is no way mathematically possible for the US to insure 50 million more people without increasing taxes on the middle & lower classes, No way can we provide service for more people with the same amount of medical proffesionals without rationing care. As for, "I get to keep my system if I like it" Sounds good in theory, but until something is finalized ina bill how you garaunty that? When a reporter asked Gibbs how that was possible he told the reporter to not take the president's word so literal.

I agree that something has to be done, but lets fix what we have not change what we don't like.

As for Joe he should appologize to anybody who asks him to for his outburst, not for what he said but when he said it.

As for "the Party of No" comments. Look at all the quotes from Thomas Jefferson posted you've ever seen. How many tell us what our government should not do as opposed to what they should do? It's about half and half. With that being said opposition is very important in the political process. Just because you don't have an idea of your own doens't mean you do not see when an idea is a bad one.

Whatever happened to supporting your coutry? Whatever happened to a country standing for something? Our country has always been about capatalism, freedoms, and family. Capatalism if left unchecked can go bad, but it's the fault of the American people as well as our politicians. But why were we as American Consumers/Citizens content with our mfg. plants going oversees, CEOs making the money they made. You know why, because we had money, when the CEO's stopped taking care of us and started taking care of corrupt politicians (From Both Sides) we stil didn't say anything. We didn't say anything negative about capatalism until it got to late. We were warned about this just like out Politicians where, but were happy to sit on the sidelines.

America is Capatalism to vilify Capatalism is to vilify America.

Sorry for not staying on topic and ranting. I will try to post a response as you write it next time.

There is no ideas offered by these countless knuckleheads insulting this country, just loud obnoxious yelling. Just rants, cursing and ditto talk.

What's in it for all the lemmings who are willing to tear down this country with snotty remarks and gimmicks. Dick Armey is making millions dangling idiots on his strings, usnews is raking thin the dollars from drug company advertising. How is it that folks can be buffooned to going against their own interests.

If you don't like it here consider packing yourself off to Afganistan or Somalia where you're bound to find like minded anarchists and warlord regimes.

There is no decency on the hill. I love the old saw - How can you tell a politician is lying? His lips are moving. This is more true today than at any other time in the last 50 years. All 536 (including the president) disgust me!

So, if not from the government, then from who ? Where will the reform you speak of come from? The insurance companies? I think not. Where is the GOP on reforn, where's the legislation- over the past 8 years- how about over the last 8 month?

I see no reason why the health insurance companies cannot be non profit corporations- serving the NEEDS of the people who pay into it. I do not think this would distroy capitalism. Yes there would need to be watch dogs to weed out corruption. If you prefer to remain with conventional insurance, you have that right.

If the insurance compamies took the $$ they spend on lobbying against reform and put it back into the system, think of the lower premiums. But lets be real they would just take thet $$ & give themselves bigger bonuses. You want to cut costs- cut the profits the companies make on sick and dying human beings- make it non profit. I am a capitalist person but do not believe we should have to profit at the expense of our existance. This reform would set us up onto the road into the 21 century and beyond. Lets get busy doing what Americans have always done, create a better life for ourselves, without having to worry about health care.

I am not saying it would be easy to work through(obviously not) but failure to reform is NOT an option- public option should be. The Backus bill, that some in the GOP like is a total joke & a payback to the lobbists $$. The GOP is going to force Obama's hand (hopefully) to pass a proper reform bill. The GOP needs to get on board. Obama will not fail in his efforts. We need to stop all the bull and get to work to fix this thing- failure, waterloo- will affect us all adversely.

The one thing that no one wants to admit is that Joe Wilson was right! Obamaman and his cohorts were actually attempting to provide healthcare to illegal aliens. This is because the term "illegal alien" is not in the looney left's lexicon. In their little minds, everyone is a citizen, entitiled to every single right guaranteed to American citizens under our Constitution. More of the same liberal, girley-man nonsense.

"I predict future happiness for americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them." Thomas Jeferson.

gorilla of NM 3:14AM September 18, 2009

Thomas Jefferson quote... "A government big enough to give you everything you want is big enough to take away everything you have." Have we forgotten the wisdom of our forefathers? Where did this,"everyone deserves some of what youve worked hard for." mentality come from? Whats the governments track record for doing things efficiently ie. public schools. Frankly im scared to death that the government might have a finger in the healthcare process, and they want to put their whole hand in the industry. Obama is lying because there is no bill we can see, its a takeover. We can reform healthcare by eliminating lawsuits by trial lawyers. Doctors, nurses, therapists and administrators are not criminals! Mistakes are made in the hospitals usually they are made by people who are overworked and underpaid. We can reform healthcare by investing money in the research, development, and investment in diagnostic equipment. Healthcare would be much better off by eradicating the government influence from it completely!

The Dems aren t giving Obama a pass on the war! I roasted Bush/Cheney not because they went to war but because they went to war with Iraq instead of Afganastan. The one thing Bush may have done right is the surge. Although we were there under false pretences - the surge did seem to work.

Enter Obama, was he suppose to bring home everyone who shouldn't have been in Iraq immediatley??? I am sure the GOP would have had a field day with that. I hate war- but the objective should be to get Osama and I give Obama credit for bucking the liberals and supporting the Afgan war. Iraq will take time to heal.

The Bush GOP administration has saddled Obama with a mess, Iraq, Banking breakdown, recession and a unsubstanable play bookfor the country. The guy is ideally suited to deal with many of these issues- if he had the support of the citizen of his counrty- after all he is president !! If rush, beck & the gop cared about this countries well being they would be hoping he could succeed in at least some of these areas. Instead they turn the fringe right, many who would reap the benefits of say healthcare into a anti everything frenzy.

If you do not agree debate the man do not cut him off at the knees and call him a liar. You cannot approach him from the extreme religious right though. Just as Obama has not made the extreme liberals happy he will not deal with the right fringe. He has proved himself a centerist. The GOP, to be relevent again, must also move to the center and deal with the radicals in the party before rush & beck talk them into civil unrest.
