Polls Show It's Time for Democrats to Drop Healthcare Reform

The bottom line is under the leadership of President Obama and the Democrats the deficit has increased to a whopping 9 TRILLION DOLLARS. The irresponsible spending of the Democrats must end now before the US goes bankrupt. The US cannot afford to spend another TRILLION dollars or more on another government entitlement program like Social Security and Medicare that are already going bankrupt. EARTH TO OBAMA AND THE DEMS: STOP THE IRRESPONSIBLE SPENDING NOW AND START PAYING OF THE DEFICIT INSTEAD OF DIGGING AN EVEN DEEPER HOLE WITH YOUR INSANE HEALTH CARE REFORM BILL. BY THE WAY, IN CASE YOU HAVEN'T NOTICED. FORCING PEOPLE INTO BUYING INTO THE "PUBLIC OPTION" EVEN IF THEY DON'T WANT OR NEED IT SAYS A LOT ABOUT WHY THE DEMS ARE TRYING TO RAM HEALTH CARE REFORM DOWN EVERYONE THROATS IN ORDER TO PASS IT. THINK ABOUT IT.

Paul, Obama's approval ratings aren't sagging because he's the victim of "the insurance industry and Republicans". They're sagging because he's behaving in a reckless manner, with a massive amount of our money, at practically the worst possible time. I can't help but liken this situation to a person who is deep in debt but badly wants to remodel his house to make himself look better ... by tearing the house down and building a new one and asking his neighbors to pay for it.

Obama's approval ratings are down because he is buckling to demands of the insurance industry and Republicans. A single-payer system (or at least a public option) is the only proposition that would:

1. Provide insurance for the uninsured

2. Reduce the waste of our insurance system since a public option would not need to pay millions for lobbying, advertising, administrative costs and CEO salaries. Most estimates show about 30% reduction in overall costs from these efficiencies. This savings would cover our uninsured without the need for extra funding.

3. Provide coverage for those with preexisting conditions.

4. Prevent sick persons from being dropped from their insurance plan.

My proposal: Give the insurance executive a nice, comfortable, public funded golden parachute (bribe) with the agreement that they will stop funding this misinformation and lobbying. This would allow the insurance executive to maintain (or increase) their incomes while allowing the American people to receive the insurance they deserve. The stockholders (as usual) would be left holding the bag, but what else is new.

People who can think and read oppose the current "reform" proposals. It's not that people oppose reform of the system. It's that they oppose "reform" as presently put forth. H.R. 3200 will not fix healthcare according to the CBO and other independent reviewers it will leave 16 million people uninsured.

I'd like to see a bill that deals with tort reform, the decoupling of work and insurance and portability can bring costs down and open up coverage for millions of americans.

The ABC-Washington Post poll shows that Americans would like to see some reforms to the system but they are getting tired of the cram down coming from Congressional Democrats and the Obama administration.

Does anyone really believe them when they say that the overall quality of care will get better under a government run health care program? Are you kidding me ?!? I fully undertand the need to get people covered and I want that to happend. But reducing the quality and avialability of care for everyone, at a cost that we just can't afford, is just not the right way to get it done. As with most, if not all, govt programs, health care will be inefficient, more costly, and ripe for fraud. In the long run it will cost us way more than any of us can imagine. SS & Medicare seemed like great ideas at the time but both are now on the verge of bankrupcy. That means much higher taxes for the youngsters in the work force in order to support an aging US population. And don't tell me how the post office is a shining example of a govt agency co-existing with UPS &FED Ex, the USPO is $7 billion in debt and climbing ...and they keep raising the cost of stamps, every year. Do you really think health care costs will go down while improving (or even maintaining) quality, AND covering more people? It just does not add up and I do not believe it. This healthcare proposal will cost way too much and reduce the quality of care for ALL. Can't we tweak what we have to gain ground without having to throw the whole thing away? How about a little competition acorss state lines for heath insurance compaines. Maybe co-ops so individules can pool resoruese together and get insurance cheaper. Some of thoe ideas, along with a dose of common sense regulation would go a long way.

Obama came with an idea to reform healthcare which needs to be done. Then they don't really have a solid plan and he changes his mind from one day to the next. Nobody really understands it and the administration can't explain it. So they try and jam it down our throats. There are so many problems with there bills and there ideas we would never be able to climb out of the devistation these ideas would leave in there wake.

Why don't they settle down and take some time and come up with a decent plan that they can explain to all americans.

Look at the Cash for Clunkers debacle. If I wraped $4500 around every machine I sold sales would be through the roof too. Now what, how is that going to keep car sales moving and who will pay for it? We can't afford anymore ideas like these.

Any novice can interpret a poll. So your hogwash perspective has to be taken into account that your bias is showing. Polls are like lawyers - you can always hire another one with an opposite opinion.

True, Americans are getting disappointed that obstructionists, Do-Nothing Republicans and swiftboaters seem to be getting the upper hand with these lies and distortions to kill any reform. Consumer Confidence will plummet if we don't get healthcare reform. Current US healthcare in unsustainable and most folks realize doing nothing is not an option.

So forgive us for not believing another rent-a-blog paid to kill off any healthcare reform. Wouldn't a Viagra ad look great here? Let's see how many seniors can get stirred up with lies that healthcare reform means the demise of Medicare.

So be it, opinions are bought and sold in our free market supporting Billionaires for Wealthcare against affordable healthcare for Americans, but healthcare reform should proceed anyway because a majority of Americans still want healthcare reform.

I am SO tired of Obama and his crew ignoring legimate complaints about their so-called healthcare "reform" and treating those who disagree with it like ignorant under-educated hicks who have been brainwashed by a carefully-orchestrated Republican smear campaign. For the record, I am a liberal (only vote for Dems and liberal 3rd party candidates), I'm highly-educated (PhD in a hard science), and I'm politically active. I don't listen to Dimbaugh, Hannity, Beck, McCaughey, or any of the other conservative paranoiacs. I've done my own reading and thinking. I'm all for providing health care to all US citizens, but this piece of crap program is a big bloated mess and a disaster in the making.
