Obama's SUV-Laden Motorcade Demonstrates His Climate Change Hypocrisy

Why can't a family of five fit in a four door smart car? Why can't the president and his men travel in smaller vehicles? Why can't we live in smaller houses? Why can't we eat less, not get fat and fit comfortbly in smaller places? Why not?

Maybe a lot of these things are possible, we only have to see them as such...

Gee that's new. A commie leftist who thinks HE should drive a big fancy car and YOU should ride a bike. This ain't news.

Whiney-bear. Geez.

I would much rather see FAMILIES own more than one car than just one SUV.

Yah, have the seven-seater 15 mpg Escalade, but also the smaller car for running around when the kids are at school. When you do have seven people in the suv you actually are getting more mpp (miles per PASSENGER). But with one occupant it's just not tolerable.

If Mr. Obama decided to take your advice and use hybrids, You and the GOP would just slam him for spending tax dollars on the new vehicles. It is a no-win situation for him.

Haha, great comments. I'm as big an Obama fan as just about anyone but I agree with the point made in this article. Tom Friedman makes a similar point about the hypocrisy of the presidential motorcade in his new book, so maybe there is some political middle ground forming on this whole climate change thing. I think it would be great for Obama to challenge the big 3 to make the most fuel efficient vehicle that is also deemed "safe" enough for presidential transport. It would be great for Obama's image and also may lead to a very practical, fuel efficient SUV that would be instantly marketable.

Only everyone start from hisself/herself and start now, we are truely environment-friendly.

This is just you fishing for something to rip into the president for.HE IS THE PRESIDENT. YOU LOST! Stop crying like a 5 year old that didnt get his lolly pop.You sound like a child. As the leader of our country he is not just allowed but deserves the very best protection which includes that motorcade. He is also a human being who sometimes like to go have a ice cream with his children. This is the kind of mindless medelling that some poeple starte to distract from the real problems that our leaders of the last 8 years got us into.

Honest to God, I think you lie in bed at night trying to think up the stupidest thing you can write about.

Then you write about it.

Poorly.

If this was a for-real journalistic endeavor, you would not be getting paid for this drivel (maybe I'm making an incorrect assumption - after all I'm writing for free - can I have my own U.S.News blog?).

What a waste of electrons.

I'll comment on the only valuable piece of writing in this opinion:

At least Mr. Roff is concerned about global warming, unlike most of his propaganda based republican friends.

Be careful, your party's leader - Mr. Limbaugh - might call you out for your environmental sympathizing.
