New York Republicans Turn Albany Upside Down

The two senators didn't say anything about switching parties. They said that they were interested in forming a bi-partisan coalition.

I say "Bravo"!

It's time to stop the it's us or them conversation and get things done in government. Besides, there are many people who are both conservative on some things and liberal in others.

I like the idea that there will be (hopefully) good discussion on legislation, instead of rubber stamps.

Its funny ,when Jeffries and Spector switched from Republican to Democrat not a word was said . When the same thing happens to the Democrats , right away their traitors and its illegal ! We have a country thats run by a bunch of crybabies .They should go to their room and take a time out !

While I can't stand what Republicans stand for, Malcolm Smith played both judge and jury with the marriage equality legislation. I don't see that in his job description. I say good ridens!

In my estimation, this take over of the state Senate smells and it is another symptom of the dysfunctionality of our state government. The last I knew we do not use a European Parliamentary system as our system of Government. These two Senators can't have it both ways. They are either Democrats or Republicans. According to our system the orderly way would have been for them to change parties and in that way they would change the leadership. It is also interesting that Espanada managed to get a leadership position out of this. As for New York State, this change is not going to be any better and it is another example of their thumhing their noses to the electorate. Furthermore, I think it will set a precedent for instability.

He better be able to name the law that he believes was broken. Otherwise, his comments are slander.

Bruno and Silver ruined New York long ago. There is no distinction between the corruption of the republicans and the corruption of the democrats in New York. They just take chances apiece robbing everybody. It's just a matter of which party gets to drive more people away this year. These people are positively incestuous, godfather to each other's kids. And it's nice to know that Hiram is involved with "real reform" instead of serving time in Rahway for slashing his girlfriend.

I just purchased a home in North Carolina. Good bye New York! You thieves.

This is just more of the Republican kindergarten nonsense we are seeing all over the country. From tea parties that were manufactured by Murdoch owned media and his friends. The democrats were voted in and I hope that this foot stomping by a party that was voted out of office because they were ineffectual and do nothing but get us into trouble here at home and around the world with their selfish and conceited solutions to governing go quietly. I am still in post-trauma mode from the previous administration that ruined my country. ENOUGH with the childish play and move along to governing like professionals. Oh, and get out of the pockets of the rich. I for one am so happy that we have a Democratic President who can not only talk but has a brain.

So much for irrelevancy. Oops.

The so called "Coup" was perfectly within the law. It might sound sleazy but Patterson & Smith are bumbling politicians who have been outplayed and outfoxed every step of the way. As for illegal, how about Shelly Silver doing the bidding of his trial lawyer buddies at his firm? Its time to impeach (Tax & Spend) Patterson and get Andy Cuomo elected as the next governor.
