Where were all you conservative deficit hawks while GWB trashed Clinton's hard-won surplus and ran up huge deficits while ALSO cutting taxes on the very rich? Nary a peep about fiscal discipline for 8 long years and now you're freaking out? Please. Pork is an easy target: try to see the forest rather than a few trees in the midst of it.

I'm a great deal less angry now that my taxes are going to commonsense policies proposed by a moderate administration facing decidedly immoderate times thanks to Republican malfeasance and constitutional overreaching. You have to be WAY out in right field to see Obama as anything other than what he claimed to be before he was elected by a resounding majority of voters across the nation: a moderate-left guy willing to try a variety of solutions to fix significant fiscal problems wrought by rampant greed, over-the-top speculation, and a complete breakdown of regulation and oversight.

And now a request: if you feel the need to regurgitate the talking points of your favorite right-wing provocateur, do your thinking neighbors a favor and provide us with a definition of whatever insults and epithets you are slinging. Having defined your terms, please also supply some thoughtful, logical support for your argument that it's legitimate to hurl said insults. I know this will take time and intellectual energy you're unused to expending in social discourse, but you might learn a little something. Plus, it will be much less easy for me to dismiss you as a perennially-aggrieved member of the non-thinking electorate.

I nice article, but to be fair, you failed to mention that the President has "challenged" his cabinet to come up with $100M in savings. Let's see, $19.6B of pork vs. $100M in savings - that should result in a funny named award.

Let's see now... who is the governor of Alaska? I seem to recall her name was in the news recently for something else...

I agree!

Take for example if we pulled out of Iraq and Afghanistan, we would be taking our

troops out of harms way and we would be doing away with the biggest of the Pork Barrel Projects.

Then we should do away with the Tarp program, and Nationalize the failed banks. That would do away with allot of Pork, and prevent hyper-inflation.

People shouldn't have to have a wheelbarrow of money to buy a loaf of bread.
