Give Navy Seals Credit on Somali Pirate Rescue, Not Obama

Befoe any action could be taken it had to to AUTHORIZED BY THE PRESIDENT! Both the President & the Navy deserves credit, yet neither of them has even requested credit, nor attempted to claim credit. I find it to be so sad that no matter which way the President handles issues you will always have those that will down him for one reason & one reason only.... THE COLOR OF HIS SKIN. This is the year 2009 & there is still so much hate that goes on in this world. I never have & never will understand how someone can hold that type of hate in thier hearts & then still try to called themselves Christians. How can they hold that much hate within & still look at themselves in the mirror. To hold that type of hate & pass that evil on to their kids.

The only person who seems to be seeking credit for anything is the previous administration for keeping us safe for the past 8 years ... that's all we hear. I've been eating McDonald's for 40 years and haven't had cancer yet, so under the same logic I guess Big Mac's prevent cancer. I also love the right wing email propaganda about this incident that is suppose to be from the Navy Seal on that mission (digging deeper it the email uses acronyms and abbreviations favored by FOX News). Why don't you probe that?

I wish "News Sources" would go back to journalism school and revisit the canons of unbiased, objective and factual reporting.

All he did was praise the Captain, the crew, and the Navy. People need to stop letting their hate, cloud their judgment. Its about as bad as Newt Ginrich claiming Obama was being soft on pirates, only to have to backtrack when Obama's calm approach worked best.

This article is disgusting. I could see a reason for writing it if Obama was out there patting himself on the back or trying to take credit. But he's been just the opposite.

that's what racist people do ,rather they want to acknowledge it or not the order came from the top! he didn't have too!!!!! and he, PRESIDENT OBAMA is the top!!!!!!!!!!

Success brings plenty of credit to spread around. Failure would have been all on Obmama's shoulder's. That's what leadership is all about folks, and a weak leader would not have risked his backside on the odds of a bunch of gung-ho rambos executing a plan with any opportunities for error. Great risk should bring great reward, isn't that the American way?

Bob of NC 8:16AM April 21, 2009

Well all the credit goes to the Navy. None should go to Obama. What was there to think about and what took so freaking long to make a decision. Now the true test is will America let that Dumb Retarded vile Somalian live in our Jails using our tax money, hey thats why he was smiling when hu was cuffed walking to jail.. Hey if that's so, Obama will just print more money so he can support more of his people.

Meh. President Obama himself expressed his admiration and thanks to the military and the Maersk Alabama crew. The credit the president received has been for wisely giving the military the latitude necessary to make split-second on-the-scene decisions. This hasn't always been the case, and thinking Americans recognize this. People trying to twist this story into something negative about the President just hate President Obama and were probably hoping the captain would get killed (like Rush Limbaugh, Newt Gingrich and Sean Hannity who were all shamefully rooting for the pirates).

I agree with very little of President Obama's policies. In this instance however he did not tie the hands of the Navy and let the local commanders make the important decisions. That much credit he does deserve. The Seals and the navy together preformed the job and deserve credit for it. It is to President Obama's credit that he did not micromanage, but let those trained for it handles the situation. They did handle it well.

Peter Roff does, and yes, I'm afraid he is an idiot.

As Eric of CA points out, presidents don't have anything to do with military training. They decide when to use it. Whatever you think about the Rules of Engagement Obama mandated, three of the four pirates are dead, and the captain is safe.

I won't be putting much stock in anything Mr. Roff writes from now on.

what an idiot.

Relax, gather your thoughts and grow up.

Maybe the DHS should put you on the terrorist watch list. Now that you are threatining people.
