Rush Limbaugh's Right: The Dark Knight Rises Is a Pro-Obama Plot
Tweet Share on Facebook July 18, 2012 CommentRush Limbaugh has come in for a lot of ribbing for his, umm, insight that the prospective blockbuster hit The Dark Knight Rises is a clever piece of pro-Obama campaign propaganda because the villain—Bane—has a homonymous name to President Obama's current adversary's old companies, Bain & Company and Bain Capital. But is it possible that Limbaugh is only scratching the surface?

In Wake of Sandusky Assaults, Ban Penn State Football
Tweet Share on Facebook July 18, 2012 CommentThey call it the "death penalty," although it's hardly a permanent sanction. It's a punishment under which a college sports program is disallowed from operating for a time—a year, perhaps—because of bad behavior related to the administration of the sports program.

The Republicans' Stunning Hypocrisy on the 'Fiscal Cliff'
Tweet Share on Facebook July 18, 2012 CommentThey say history repeats itself, which is why I am shocked at the Republican response to the Democrats saying they'll let everyone's income taxes rise on January 1 and slash defense spending if Republicans continue to balk at raising taxes just on those making more than $250,000 a year. Didn't the Republicans "hold America hostage," as they accuse Democrats of doing, with the debt ceiling crisis just last year?

Obama Can't Distract Voters From the Flagging Economy
Tweet Share on Facebook July 18, 2012 CommentMuch of the country has been in successive heat waves for the past month, while President Obama and his campaign have experienced a continued pesky cold streak. Not even a victory in the Supreme Court over Obamacare could shake them out of the doldrums.

Obama Should Look to the Boehner Model for Improving Education
Tweet Share on Facebook July 17, 2012 CommentIn Washington there are two competing visions of what constitutes good education policy. One, held by some in the Obama administration and the entrenched education establishment, is system-based, with its emphasis placed on adults and support for the status quo, rather than the students. The other, which has been embraced by education reformers in both parties, focuses on students and parents in the quest to provide a quality learning experience that will prepare people to compete for jobs in the global marketplace.

Barack Obama Is the Whiner-in-Chief
Tweet Share on Facebook July 17, 2012 CommentRahm Emanuel, President Barack Obama's first White House chief of staff and currently one of his top campaign surrogates, made some hay on this past Sunday's shows saying that Gov. Mitt Romney should "stop whining" about recent attacks on his tenure at Bain Capital. The irony on that spin is rich, given that President Obama deserves the moniker "Whiner-In-Chief." More than three years into his term, the president still blames his failures on...almost anyone (or thing) but him.

Obama Doesn't Give Small Businesses the Credit They Deserve
Tweet Share on Facebook July 17, 2012 CommentPresident Ronald Reagan once said, "There is no limit to what a man can do or where he can go if he doesn't mind who gets the credit." Should small businesses get the credit for creating a successful enterprise or is it really because the government made it possible? The answer came from President Barack Obama when he stated his approach to free markets and the economy.

Mitt Romney's 'Say You're Sorry' Demand of Obama Backfires
Tweet Share on Facebook July 17, 2012 CommentBarack Obama is president of the United States and one of the most powerful people in the world. But is he a full-grown adult? One would not think that many in the GOP see the 50-year-old president as a grown-up. Obama, and his campaign, have gone relentlessly after GOP contender Mitt Romney, accusing the former Massachusetts governor of outsourcing jobs overseas when he was an executive at Bain Capital. The Romney campaign's response? They think Obama should say he's sorry.

Why We Should Worry About the Soulless, Entitled Mitt Romney
Tweet Share on Facebook July 17, 2012 CommentTime to give Mitt Romney the dressage-down he so "richly" deserves. And it's not just about money. Let me count the whys we should send this smug, vapid, preppie packing: power, sex, and religion. Frankly, I don't give a damn about the dog issue, Gail Collins.

Rob Portman and Kelly Ayotte Sink Law of the Sea Treaty
Tweet Share on Facebook July 16, 2012 CommentThe Law of the Sea Treaty, a controversial agreement that would have placed the responsibility for protecting freedom of the seas with an international organization created by the United Nations, sank Monday as a 33rd and 34th U.S. senator announced their opposition to its ratification.
