Obama's Wall Street Donor Hypocrisy
Tweet Share on Facebook July 31, 2012 CommentVirtually every day, the Obama campaign tries to cast his opponent as some type of modern day robber baron. Gov. Mitt Romney's clear success in the private sector is a threat to President Barack Obama's attempt to sell the American public on another four years of dismal economic performance. Yet, when it comes to raising money for his own campaign, the president doesn't seem to blink about the source.

Boycott Chick-Fil-A Over Junk Food, Not Gay Marriage
Tweet Share on Facebook July 31, 2012 CommentDon't boycott Chick-fil-A because its CEO is an outspoken foe of gay marriage.
Boycott it because it sells junk food that impacts the health of young people, which is potentially far worse than CEO Dan Cathy's influence on their minds.

For-Profit Colleges Use Taxpayer Dollars to Rip Off Students
Tweet Share on Facebook July 31, 2012 CommentSen. Tom Harkin, Democrat of Iowa, released a report recently on for-profit colleges that should make your hair stand on end. So many bad apples, so little time to remove them.

Olympics, AIDS Conference Give Hope
Tweet Share on Facebook July 31, 2012 CommentLately I had noticed that, save for a flash mob here and there, there was way too little joie in the world. The euphoria for Barack Obama's election was too fleeting to be weighed and counted. Since roughly December 2000, America has become a glum place in public and the 21st century has been a bust for us. The American swagger has gradually gone limp—has it been since 2007?

Female Olympic Athletes Still Not Taken Seriously
Tweet Share on Facebook July 30, 2012 CommentFemale athletes outnumber the men on the U.S. Olympic team this year for the first time in history. The first two days of competition, U.S. women slightly out-medaled the U.S. men, and while superstar swimmer Michael Phelps somewhat disappointed, Dana Vollmer not only won a gold medal in the 100 meter butterfly, but set a world record to boot. Saudi Arabia sent two women to compete for the first time in history.

Harvey Weinstein Can Do More About Violence Than New Gun Laws
Tweet Share on Facebook July 27, 2012 CommentThere's a reason both Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama have stayed away from the topic of gun control in the wake of the shootings at the premiere of The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, Colo. Both men realize that more laws would not have stopped the mass killings. Romney put it well, "A lot of what this young man did was clearly against the law. But the fact that it was against the law did not prevent it from happening." They both know the problem is not one of having too few laws on the books. We have plenty of gun laws, and we can't pass a new one every time this happens.

Mitt Romney Should Use the London Olympics to Showcase Himself
Tweet Share on Facebook July 26, 2012 CommentIt's not worrrrrrrking.
Mitt Romney's strategy to topple President Barack Obama has been to make the race a referendum on the president's record. It's a reasonable approach—the president has failed to turn around the economy, build support for his healthcare legislation, or end Washington gridlock.

Mitt Romney's Vacuous Incoherence on Guns
Tweet Share on Facebook July 26, 2012 CommentWhile Mitt Romney is getting a lot of attention for the stumbling start to his European tour (new slogan: "I won't apologize for America ... I'm too busy apologizing for myself"), his comments on gun laws merit a little more scrutiny for their awe-inspiring incoherence and vapidity.

Learning to Forgive the Colorado Shooter
Tweet Share on Facebook July 26, 2012 CommentWhen I hear the word forgiveness, two things crop into my mind: 1. Don Henley singing the song "Heart of the Matter," and 2. what Christianity is supposed to be based on.
Now don't worry, this is not a blog about religion; it's a blog about forgiveness.
