Tweet Share on Facebook June 2, 2011 Comment (87)Imagine this scenario: A youngish, recently married, female member of Congress learns that someone has sent a tweet to a fraternity house-follower of someone alleged to be her, allegedly from her own Twitter account. Her face is not in the grainy photo, but her breasts are, covered up by a lacy bra. It’s a provocative photo, one that is embarrassing to the congresswoman. She has no idea who would have done such a thing or why.

Tea Party is a brand that is popular with conservative voters but doesn’t have a national financial base. The Republican Party has a national finance infrastructure but it has been obliterated ideologically by the Tea Party. The emergence of the Tea Party keeps Karl Rove and other D.C. Republicans awake at night. But I’m not losing any sleep because of Karl Rove’s nightmares.

Sarah Palin may or may not be running for president. She is, however, on a "One Nation" bus tour that might be the start of an exploration of a maybe, could-be presidential campaign. Or maybe it’s just an Americana-themed family vacation, complete with local audiences. Or maybe it’s just a way for Palin, who is impressively adept at promoting herself and her home state, to stay in the public eye--either for political purposes or reality TV purposes.
