American mariners benefit from the Jones Act; and in today’s economy we need those jobs.

The Jones Act does not only benefit the worker, but has another primary beneficiary, not only the maritime workers and unions, but the shipbuilders and related manufacturers and the taxes they pay are good for our economy and good for our country.

Those who stand to gain and profit from getting rid of the Jones Act are using high gas prices and heightened emotions during an election year to gain malice momentum. Everyone should support the Jones Act as an Act that actually saves good American jobs and puts money directly into the American economy.
