Energy Prices Soared in 2011

Seems to refer to another planet, or at least another nation. The author makes no mention of several overriding factors. Oil and gas taken from US territory is not earmarked for US use, it goes onto the open market and is sold to the highest bidder.

And yes, the EPA has implicated fracking in contaminating ground water.

Re offshore drilling, just say BP-Halliburton.

Usuable fuel from shale oil and tar sands takes far more energy to extract, as well as more water than is available at many sites.

Gasoline prices were more affected by turmoil in the Middle East this past year than by national policy.

And so on and so on, but the article is such an obvious manipulation job that I won't waste more time.

Can we have equal time for the far left on this one? This article's author is president of the "Institute for Energy Research." Look it up on Google. It's very obvious who funds this Institute.

It's been awhile since I've read USN&WR (I'm an Economist reader). When did they sell out to big oil?
