Gun Control Update: Maryland Teen Stockpiling Guns and the Plans for Bush's Motorcade Route

For those folks who railed against my stand on gun control (and yes, I read even the insulting ones), there's another sad chapter to this story.

In the Maryland suburbs of Washington, an 18-year-old was found this week with an arsenal of weapons in his basement, along with papers on making bombs and a map of the route George W. Bush's motorcade takes to the presidential retreat at Camp David. His father apparently helped purchase the weapons.

Question: Were these weapons for self-defense? Any responsible person knows the answer.

It is my personal belief that gun control advocates believe that in time the pen will save them from those with swords. But in a TRUE democracy I believe that the pen should still fear and respect the sword. After all a pen won't save you from a Viking at your door who wants that pen will it?

The argument that guns are for protection is self serving
and will perpetuate the problem......
In the UK guns are banned, and yes we still have gun crime
but less in the whole country than in a large city in the USA
We do not live in more or less fear than the average American
just less of us are killed by guns.
Even accounting for the difference in populations, our police don,t carry guns as routine either.
The result is now a surge in knife crime, because everone is now carrying knives "for protection" see where this is going??
Now we have banned knives in the street and it will take a few years to enforce and get used to not having a knife......
I know some American friends, and when they visit the Uk they all comment on how nice it is to see the police without guns....
All it takes is the first brave step and life can be better for the vast majority of Americans
Yes there will still be horror stories but there will be hope too....
I am not anti guns, just making an observation........

I think the general populace missed the entire point of this news report and what was probably the main plan of this "Maryland Teen". President Bush rarely used Camp David in as much as he attends his own ranch in Texas. He's also been in office a number of years, where opportunity to carry out these mad plans were more available. More importantly, in his next few months of office he proberbly won't be making any more trips to this site. So the question comes to mind just who this "Teen" was targeting really? My best guess would be that his plans were for whom ever wins the 2008 Presidential election. Blueprint plans of Camp David are not very accesible, so where did he get these plans? Gun control...not likely going to happen in a country heaped in a historical tradition of its citizens bearing arms and using them against one another. This isn't a story about gun control, but a manman's plans or a group of madmen planning a future terrorist event.
