I've always admired Bob Novak's reporting style, even when I often disagreed with his point-a-view. He's a real professional and a lot more honest than the current breed of partisans(on both sides). MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU BOB. You're an American treasure.

Why would anyone admit to being friends with Novak? Does that mean he will not try to hit you with his car? Novak is the epitome of everything that is wrong in DC.

I've known Novak as a trailmate, a colleague on the bus, and the guy working in the next office at 1750 Pennsylvania Avenue. I take credit for being the hottest roaster at the first such affair way back in the 60s.I leaked to him when I was in the government, and he always got it right, got the subject more attention than any other columnist would have, and protected his source.
Bob took a tremendous amount of grief over the Valerie Plame affair--was accused of outing a CIA operative, doing Karl Rove's bidding, and caving in to an unscrupulous prosecutor. Since Bob wouldn't talk about it I wondered if some of could be true about a journalist I knew as ridiculously conservative but full of integrity. He protected his source--the Undersecretary of State--who had already told the prosecutor he was the source. In his book he tells the whole story, no holds barred. A great read.
Novak is one-of-a-kind. He's only taking a brfeak he hopes will be short while they work on him. But I miss him already.
