Supreme Court's Decision Will Spark Lawsuits and Violence

I have many otherwise law abiding friends in DC. Many already have a handgun, bought in other states, because they know the criminals all do and they wanted to be able to protect themselves and their families.

At least now they will not be arrested for Carrying a Pistol Without a License if they use it in their own house to protect themselves against an intruder. This actually has happened a lot under the old law.

If a bank Robber knows everyone in the bank is armed he will go to another bank were no one is armed, the same thing happens with this gun bans or gun free zones is just a haven for criminals. is just plain and simple.

If in doubt lok at Chicago,D.C were only criminals have guns.

Thank you

For those who say that in order to properly interprete the 2nd amendment we must consider the violence from hand guns in this country.....you are mixing two completely separate issues......one is a constitutional right, the other is the responsibility to obey the law.

We must remember that with each freedom comes responsibility.

And Ron... who exactly would be the "nitwit" here....the person that supports the Constitution and the rights secured thereby, or the person who rips the Bill of Rights apart by suggesting that supporters of those rights kill themselves?

What a terrible decision.

Just think, if honest people start buying guns and shooting crooks in WASHINGTON, D.C. Who will be left to be the mayor and city counsel of WASHINGTON, D.C..

All the nitwits that are so happy to be able to carry handguns. Stick them up your behinds & blow your brains(very small ones) out and do us all a favor

CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE TO BEAR ARMS

It is not primarily for their collecting; nor primarily for their hunting; nor even primarily for their self-defense against violent criminals; it is primarily for well regulated militias in every state; ready, when faced with intolerable governmental tyranny, for explosive bloody revolt to preserve their Liberty.

Just as every sensible American child should grow up knowing exactly how to safely use the automobile for transportation; so too every sensible American child should grow up knowing exactly how to safely use the gun for revolution.

Every well informed American knows that the Right to Bear Arms is a sacred integral part of the American system of Constitutional government, by the People and for the People, in which their executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government are subordinate to the supreme democratic majority will of the People.

Every sensible American governmental official has a very healthy fear of this inherent revolutionary power of the American People.

Every American governmental official knows that any action subversive to the Constitutional Rights of the American People is an act of tyranny.

This whole "shootouts to settle disputes" nonsense is the same tired song people sang when Florida and other states passed their concealed carry laws. Yet... it didn't happen.

Then, the "Assault Weapons Ban" sunsetted... the streets would run red with blood we were assured. Yet... it didn't happen.

So I guess the third time is the charm, make more dire predictions and hope something bad happens to back them up. If it doesn't, wait and cry wolf a few more times.

I live in a nation where to even own a gun is useless, and if you are caught with one without a licenses you go to prison, The Philippines. And here only the police, who often use their guns to rob people. The military who often do the same thing, and then you have the crooks who use their guns to rob and kill. And the honest folk are left defenseless.. So don't feed me that BS about a safer America without "Guns. I live in a GUN-CONTROL-NATION that would be much safer if the people had the right to bear arms

The DC handgun ban was overly restrictive and needed to be overturned. What this decision does for liberals is lessen the likelihood of the gun issue hurting Obama in the election (think possibilities for health care), and defang in the future the NRA's claim that every attempt by any legislature or city council to regulate guns is a "dangerous step down a slippery slope to gun confiscation." The Court left lots of room for some rules other than outright bans, and the author has it backwards that there will be more suits over laws. There will likely be less.

Try reading the only national county by county study of crime and lawfull gun ownership.

It was done by Dr, John Lott.

Title sums it up more guns less crime.
