you all forgot to add manipulated america into war in kuwait to get an american base built in the region?

you forgot he had a lying prince and princess testify before congress about baby incubators to accomplish it?

how he had our iraqi ambassador give tacit approval to hussein to invade kuwait as a reward he thought he deserved for fighting a proxy war for us with iran?

how he gave chemical weapons to hussein to use on iran and he used them on the kurds too?

it seems ignorance is rife when it comes to president bush? doesn't it??

i doubt my previous post will even be added

sad thing too

from reading the posts -- it seems the public has little real knowledge of president bush

which is sad also

What is truly sad about the state of the Pub party today is neither Bush41 nor Reagan would ever be able to survive the nomination process.

You omitted his most significant accomplishment: he managed the West's response to the fall of the Berlin Wall and dissolution of the Soviet empire. After nearly a half century of cold war, we could have crowed about our victory, gloated about superiority of our way of life, and finished up with a prayer of gratitude that indeed God was our side. Not a word of such boasting was heard from the White House. Pres. Bush's style led others to follow his example.

I totally agree and love the underated story which was new to me. Pres. 41 lead our nation with distinction, surrounded by a strong cabinet and advisors. He remained humble, always respecting the opinions of others while making the tough decisions. His sense of humor is legendary. There is probably no better friend getter than 41. His circle is enormous. He is a treasure! Debbie Stapleton

George H. W. Bush - thank you

For a life of service to us.

The American people do

Owe you a rating of A plus.

To government, you gave a face

That We the People felt you'd be

Steady through any time and place,

And so you were through history,

Striving to achieve what was right,

In humored modesty design.

You showed us of the points of light.

You serve us well and you do shine.

So thank you, Mr. President.

Your time with us has been well spent.
