"White males want to shoot minority males"? You must be kidding. Minorities do a fine job of shooting each other without a white man stepping into the fray. On subsatnce the article is spot on. Obama thinks he is better than the rest of us and God help you if you happen to disagree with him. By far the worst Pres we have ever had and that's saying something when you consider how awful Jimmy Carter was. How is thias article biased? Obama is quoted throughout. What an arrogant pr***!

tomcloud of TX, what an uneducated idiot you are, but you are from texas.

One of the underlying reasons, why Obama is so hated, despised by some

people in these United States, is because he is mixed race, minority male,

black man.

Some people in this country cannot stomach the idea of a black man

in the Whitehouse with his wife and children.

Regardless of the reasons that they bring forth, that he is a Muslim,

that they don't like the fact that Obama's Healthcare plan, has forced

the Corporate Health Industry to cover sick children.

The fact that there is a black man in the Oval Office,

without a mop and a broom, but sitting in the power seat,

has made them go bonkers.

Just read some of the signs carried by the members of the

white working class=The Tea Party, with respect to Obama.

The election of a black man, to the most powerful seat in the world,

has ripped open the Pandora's Box of racial hatred that is alive and well

in America.

White males feel that they have to take their country back,

they want to shoot all minority males, until the White Christian Male,

is back in the jockey seat again, with the minority males under him.

Racism is at the core of the objection to Obama.

It's not the only thing, but it's a big part of it.

How strange, a Bush speech writer, saying not-nice things about Obama. I must agree with How dumb. How can you take Mary seriously?

Gurling 2:45PM October 13, 2010

The economy might not have been broken in that little of time, but it wouldn't be so bad as it is, if people would be given a fighting chance instead of law after law being pushed through without anyone reading it and with so many extra things being added to it as pork barrel for certain states or groups. The jobs would be available if people felt more confident about the future instead of not know what was going to happen next, since every time you turn around another law is being passed to help one group and not all of us. Until the big companies and small companies have the confidence that they are not going to have to pay more taxes out of their pockets and throw to the government for their agenda, jobs are not going to be created and in return, items are not going to be purchased, so the economy can not get any better. This is my view on why our economy is stagnant.

This is so dumb. Is this the best that they can do? I think the republicans have really become a cult of stupidity. Who else would take this drivel seriously but a bunch of dummies? Did they complain about bush being out of touch? Noooo! Everyone knows that being out of touch is the republican modus operani. They have been in a state of denial about the changes occurring in the world for years. They deny anything that doesn't fit their preconceptions, no matter what the facts . Look at the wing nuts on the Texas school board. Now that is being out of touch. I'm beginning to think they pay the author of this article for coming up with ingenious nonsense. We should watch out for wing nuts and their dirty tricks, they are as stealthy as bed bugs and as toxic as sludge.

You are "delusional"...

Bill Hedges of MO 2:01PM October 12, 2010

first off, delusions about the healthcare reform being evil is plain WRONG. American healthcare sucks, we pump in twice as much money as any country does in healthcare and RANK 40TH! http://www.photius.com/rankings/healthranks.html.

while france ranks first. now when it comes to the health of you and your family, wouldn't you want to be living in a country with controlled cost and great care?

i encourage you all to read more about the healthcare reform and what it really does and says, because it may become clear to you why is it so important to start making some changes about it. obama actually compromised a lot to pass that health reform so it wouldn't be as socialist as your right-wingers are afraid of and STILL there's so much adversity.

oh, and 8 years of bush is a big mess to clean up. after inheriting a broken economy, how can one expect any change in 2 years. LETS GET REALISTIC HERE EVERYONE! the economy didn't fall apart in one day and it can't be fixed in one night nor in one term.

michieb of FL 1:52PM October 12, 2010

Article asks: "How could ...such a galvanizing figure for many Americans two years ago have become this out of touch?"

ANSWER: So many Americans put their FAITH in HOPE and CHANGE. Not in substance, not in a plan for improvement. Obama the politician saw an opportunity to implement his ideology, NOT to fix the economy. The politician knew that voters HOPED he would do so. But his plans were to implement social programs. Not only did he have no workable plan for the economy, but he was determined to implement his social agenda at the cost of the economy. President Obama has delivered what he promised: CHANGE. The problem is that it is the change he envisioned, not the change the voters HOPED for.

You've nailed it with this article. I've grown weary of the Presidents lONG winded answers. It is as if he's never stopped campaining. He has yet to roll up his sleeves and tackle the tough challenges our nation currently faces. It seems as if we've elected a kid to do a man's/woman's job.

Mike of CA 6:16PM October 11, 2010

Bes: Right on track! Well put.

tomcloud: "he does know what is going on but chooses to work to destroy the freedoms we have." This type of delusional thinking is what's "destroying the freedoms we have". Being "in touch" is why he's attempted many of the things he has. If you would actually read the Rolling Stone interview, you would see that Obama entered office knowing that a lot of the legislation that would be associated with his name wouldn't be the most popular, but would be in the best interest of the country in the long term. Check back on that health care reform in 10 years and see how it benefited you or your family; if you have children, I'm sure they will appreciate being able to maintain their status on your insurance benefits as they obtain their post-graduate degrees rather than having to purchase overpriced, sub-par insurance as was the case when I was in school. As real estate regains its natural value, question how financial regulation and mortgage reform will help maintain those values to prevent another devastating bubble burst. When credit card reform prevents you from being unfairly charged or prevents your interest rate from going up for no reason, keep this "out of touch" president in mind. When the dust settles and you're reaping the benefits from someone who is "out of touch" and intentionally trying to ruin America, you might rethink your stance. However, I think it's more likely that you'll be too busy living off your social security benefits or utilizing Medicare while complaining about what a socialist Obama was.
