Take a look at the publisher’s description on Amazon of Young Guns: A New Generation of Conservative Leaders by Reps. Paul Ryan, Eric Cantor, and Kevin McCarthy:

The time has come to move the country forward with a clear agenda based on common sense for the common good. There is a better way.

Make no mistake: Congressmen Eric Cantor, Paul Ryan, and Kevin McCarthy are proud Republicans. But they believe the party had lost sight of the ideals it believes in, like economic freedom, limited government, the sanctity of life, and putting families first. This isn’t your grandfather’s Republican party. These Young Guns of the House GOP—Cantor (the leader), Ryan (the thinker), and McCarthy (the strategist)—are ready to take their belief in the principles that have made America great and translate it into solutions that will make the future even better, solutions that will create private sector jobs, maximize individual freedom, and establish a better world for our children. This groundbreaking book is a call to action that sets forth a plan for growth, opportunity, and commitment that will propel this country to prosperity once again. Together, the Young Guns are changing the face of the Republican Party and giving us a new road map back to the American dream.

Hopefully this is not another political diatribe filled with vague platitudes, which we’ve had a few of lately. By this time in 1994, we had 10 solid ideas listed in the Contract with America, so that voters knew what they were voting for if they pulled the lever for Republicans in the midterms. (Today’s Gallup poll shows an all-time high of people who seem to be willing to do just that, if the election were held today.) We need to hear exactly what Republicans stand for, not just what they’re against.

I’m intrigued by the words “clear agenda,” “solutions,” “sets forth a plan,” and “new road map.” I’m so intrigued, in fact, that I pre-ordered a copy and have decided to write a review of the book for Thomas Jefferson Street readers as soon as I’ve read it. It’s no coincidence that this book hits the shelves the day after Congress gets back in town, and I’m hoping it raises the level of debate in Washington this fall. In fact, I’m looking forward to it.

Remember what the Contract on America left out of print: increasing the number and power of corporate lobbyists by 1000%.

Remember removing oversight and regulation from the crooks who stole their way into "our" Great Recession?

Yeah - order a copy of the book right away. Worth about as much as the last contract rightwing cretins took out on people who actually work for a living.

"With this administration, what we're seeing is not just an arrogant contempt for the cognitive ability and will of the American people but also a cynical determination to manipulate its will through indoctrination, selective suppression of speech, and trickery."

Remember Bill Clinton. Never had a balanced budget in his life until Newt and the boys entered his life. Newt did not have enough votes to override veto. Is why government was shut down twice. Bill Clinton joined Newt.

Bill Clinton owes his Presidency to Newt and the boys.

Also Congress must pass funding for obama’s agenda. Cut off money and programs die a horrible death.

Fox is number one in the polls and leads # 2 CNN shows from 3 to 6 times more audience. Keep kicking Glenn Beck…
