Virginia AG Ken Cuccinelli's Ruling Makes Abortions Safer

Never forget according to the founding fathers what was right or wrong was not the same as what was legal or illegal. Thus the argument that what Cuccinelli is doing is, "a thinly veiled effort to stop abortions," and is therefore wrong; means that somehow we KNOW that Cuccinelli has no morals, or that his morals are anti-American.

Were I in Cuccinelli's position I would have done the same thing. I believe I have a right to live, and I had that right ever since the first cell that would one day be me came into existence. I was not a part of my mother while in the womb. My mom didn't have four arms and four legs at the same time.

And as for 'Shame' - I would consider it far worse than a 'shame' if I were killed at any time once I had a chance to be an American.

"If abortion clinics don’t have to meet hospital-type standards, aren’t they unsafe?"

A hospital is not the standard for "safe." Is your dentist's office up to the standards of a hospital? No? But dental procedures often use anesthesia, which can be quite dangerous. Is your ob/gyn's office as technologically advanced as a hospital? No? But they are in the care of women's reproductive health, and certainly need to be safe! By a hospital standard and Ms. Cary's logic, though, a typical obstetrician's office is "unsafe."

"This proves that to the prochoice crowd, it’s not about protecting women, it’s about attacking...Republicans."

They forgot to conceal the proof! You discovered the conspiracy!

"The fact that so many clinics might have a problem meeting hospital standards tells me how many of them are unsafe."

That is quite the conclusion! Are these statements also true? 'The fact that so many accountants don't read French tells me how many of them are illiterate.' 'The fact that this soup needs salt tells me that the chef has been poisoning the customers.' Oh, it is easy to try and boil it down to absolutes! But the world is not full of absolutes. Ken Cuccinelli is trying to do just what abortion opponents love to hate: legislate from a judicial position.

I agree that standards should be appropriate.

Doctors should have hospital privileges. Abortion/complication occur. Abortions are done at different stages of babies term. Equipment should be appropriate. Staff should have professional training.

A back door attempt to abolish abortion clinic is wrong.

Not knowing the particulars from a neutral source is about all I can say.

There is nothing wrong with abortion clinics being safe, but to make them meet the same requirements of hospitals is ridiculous and Ken Cuccinelli knows it. His bills to try to do this legislatively in the past were rejected for very specific reasons....hospital regulations call for equipment that is neither needed or affordable by doctors offices and clinics. HE KNOWS THIS and this is just another thinly veiled effort to stop abortions. I love listening to conservatives who are constantly railing against government intervention. I guess it is only a problem if its doesn't involve what someone does in their own bedroom or when a woman wants to make her own decision about her own body. Shame on him and shame on you for buying into this nonsense.

mandatory ultrasound will destroy the abortion industry. Pictures of fully formed human beings in the womb should educate even self centered Hedonists, such as our president, regarding when life begins.

If a pregnant woman is murdered most states consider it a double homicide. What message is contained in that statement? Perhaps that we have regressed to the point of valuing human life based upon the "wanting" of it. The "wanted" unborn are called babies, loved and nurtured - the unwanted is called a fetus and killed.

Bad news for the unborn, and bad news for the unwanted, like Terry Schiavo, or maybe you or me someday.

You must think I only listen to Sarah.

I said:

“In Oregon they have a State plan. You might need a expensive medicine for your cancer. They can and have refused the care. They have offered suicide pills.”

Steve says:

“Assisted suicide is illegal everywhere in the US and no government agencies ever engage in it“

NO:.

“Death Drugs Cause Uproar in Oregon”

“Terminally Ill Denied Drugs for Life, But Can Opt for Suicide”

http://abcnews.go.com/Health/story?id=5517492&page=1

“Stopping state-sanctioned suicide”

“Since Oregon legalized assisted suicide in 1994, 292 individuals have committed state sanctioned suicide, at least according to government reports. End-of-life concerns most frequently cited were not pain but "loss of autonomy (96%), decreasing ability to participate in activities that made life enjoyable (96%), and loss of dignity (76%)."

Sarah said:

“Palin Paints Picture of 'Obama Death Panel' Giving Thumbs Down to Trig”

“She questions Democratic promises that the health care reform plans will reduce the cost of health care, invoking economist Thomas Sowell, saying the only way to cut costs is to refuse treatment“.

"And who will suffer the most when they ration care?" Palin asks. "The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course. The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama’s 'death panel' so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their 'level of productivity in society,' whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil."

So debunk Sarah Steve…

There are government assisted suicides. Save bucks instead of give care...

Barry wants to shut down oil wells in Gulf to make safer oil drilling. Obama wants open voting in unions to make things better for, for, for. Well sorry I don’t know the reason why. Eggs they want more regulation enforcement for health reasons.

Article says:

“the state Board of Health the ability to write new regulations that would require abortion clinics to be subject to the same health standards as hospitals.”

“If abortion clinics don’t have to meet hospital-type standards, aren’t they unsafe? If you’re getting an abortion, don’t you want your doctor to have hospital privileges in case something goes wrong? And aren’t most counselors professionally trained? ”

Nobody is closing abortion clinics. Simple common sense regulations. People expect medical procedures to be safe. Is job of government to make it so.

Oh, for regulations unless in your back yard. Teddy was against wind mills he could see with binoculars from his house…

Abortion and contraception are ancient practices that have existed for thousands of years. Before the "unsafe" back alley abortions throughout the 1900s, abortion was legal in the United States. Throughout all of recorded history, dating back to Ancient Egyptian times, abortion and contraception had been practiced by every culture around the world. Therefore, to create an environment where abortions (one of the simplest and safest surgical procedures) are further restricted makes no sense whatsoever. This makes abortion more difficult to access, and puts more woman's lives in danger. For more of this story, visit http://www.4000yearsforchoice.com. Celebrate abortion providers! Support local clinics! Every community needs access to reproductive health care!

Using the law to try to take away a legal right .... disgusting.
