CBO considers the information given. By the way is preliminary.
$500 billion must be stolen from broke medicare and how ever much from broke S/S. For 4 years they just collect money before 6 years of pay with benefits. They separate the $250 billion Doctor fix. They throw many into medicare and Medicaid.
Yes, in their special way they show a savings. To YOUR way of thinking. Congress knows better, polls show people know better. $50-60 trillion debt of social program show different. OR, MA, and Countries show better.

A typical right-wing stance: start off by calling Democrats drama queens. Cary, can't you just first tell us the basic facts of what you're trying to say? And maybe how is a drama queen relevant to this debate??????
And then there's the poster referring to Pelosi as an air-head. I wonder what her life accomplishments are besides Nancy's. I would bet this poster can't even compose an intelligible paragraph if the sample of her post is any clue.
Speaking of the facts: The CBO has weighed in the on the fiscal impact of the Democrats' health care reform--the Republicans have submitted no plans of consequence anyway and are opposed to reform to the last man and woman. And the CBO's findings are favorable: reform will even reduce the federal deficits while giving coverage to 30 million Americans now uninsured.
And all this without the public option. But reform will bring us closer to the model of health care prevalent in other advanced nations which spend half as much per capita than the U.S. With reform, we hope things will only get better later.

Speaking of "cluelessness"... WAKE UP!! I feel like I did when I saw the second plane hit the Twin Towers. This is no accident. It is planned. The Tea Party parents are moderate Dems, Independents as well as Republicans. They see the deficit skyrocketing which is threatening the future of us, our children and our country. They see the extreme liberal agenda that is being promoted in public school classrooms, from elementary through college. Students are ridiculed if they say anything to the contrary. Talk about cluelessness, anyone that can't see Obama will do what ever it takes to bring down the Free Market and Capitalism and the United States. Sal Alinsky and other communists are touted as heroes in our schools and Obama's administration. They control the publishing companies that approve what is included in our public school textbooks. He got around the "vetting" process put in place when a president takes office to prevent radicals from being able to pose a threat to our government by not calling them cabinet members but "Czars". These people are dictating policy for our country. These are the same people that have stated they want to bring down the U.S. In a year he has pushed a government take-over of our banking system, large corporations, now it is our health care and is sneaking in government control of student loans with the requirement that the government will dictate what classes those students will enroll. READ THE BILL!!He stomps all over our Constitution. He is making backroom deals and misrepresenting the actual costs of his healthcare plan. Hidden in the bill's 2900 pages are items that, by law, are not to be included in any bill being considered using "Reconciliation". It is estimated that 400,000 abortions a year will be indirectly paid for by this bill, 30% of doctors will stop practicing medicine, health care rationing will result, there will be more fraud, waste, we will not be able to keep our same doctors, our coverage will change! Never before has a bill passed with different "verbage" in the Senate bill and different "verbage" in the house bill. This is totally unconstitutional. If you don't see this you are an idiot, a communist, a communist-idiot or a "Pelosi Air-head"!

So-called "undecided" Democrats are undecided because they are still negotiating for their own, personal goodies. Of course, the basic policy issues haven't changed over the course of the debate: massive increase in government spending, bloating of government bureaucracy, burdensom tax increases including on the formation of capital critical to economic recovery, and telling the 20% of the people in America that don't have health insurance that they lack the capabilities to get it on their own and otherwise take care of themselves. But those "undecided" Democrats that can get past all that are now negotiating on their own behalves, either for election year money and support from the party, or for jobs in the new healthcare bureaucracy when they get thrown out of office. They will negotiate their personal goodies down to the wire.

w/ Muser of NM on this issue. Civics lesson aside, there are some very serious implications with regard to this legislation and it's benefit/impact for decads to come.
Mary Kate Cary, if someone hasn't learned their civics lesson at this point, it's too late.

that being a high school American Government teacher would no longer be any fun at all. Can you imagine having the Tea Party parents coming after your hide for telling kids the truth about the obstructionism? Can you imagine having your pricipal and school board telling you to "be careful, now, we're not political here"---so you can't teach at all on contemporary issues?
I think this commentary above represents a sort of cluelessness.
Mary Kate may understand the youngsters playing "drama queen", but thinking that teaching this stuff could be fun---with America on a 52/48 edge and adults packing idealogical heat and real heat?

Forgetting the issue at hand, why all this crap. There is an agenda to this madness. Is it wanting their vote bought ? Cover for re-election ? I don't claim to know the answer.
But it smells to high Heaven...
