All I can say is thank goodness we have the 2nd amendment. A crisis war is coming. See generational dynamics for more information.

Mr. Obama ran on a promise to transform America and it resonated with many Americans who were unhappy with wars, a stagnant economy, and a general malaise about things. Unfortunately, America never asked Mr. Obama what he planned on transforming the country into and he never told them. While I did not vote for Mr. Obama, our bad...

Now comes this health care monstrosity swaddled in disingenuity that goes a long way to transforming America into a socialist country and the citizens are very angry. Yes, we should have asked then-candidate Obama what his plans were, but even given the poor judgement we exhibited, now-President Obama does not have the right to ram this transformation through. The citizens have awakened and have expressed their disapproval and yet he persists.

All of the Republicans are against this bill and are in lock step with the citizens. Many Democrats have heard the music coming from the citizenry and are voting against the bill in the house. So many in fact that Obama has to resort to every form of technical, legal, parliamentary chicanery possible to get the bill passed even over the defections from his own party.

So, Obama wants to transform this country into a socialist state over the people's clear disapproval. He and all those who follow him do so at their peril and show that they believe they know better than their constituents. Obama has transgressed his supposed mandate and the people will withdraw it this November.

The sole result of this bill passing would be to stymie the ability of the Congress or the President to govern. Bills that should get passed to help the country and the economy will be stalled because of on-going challenges to the legality and funding of the bill. The Supreme Court, which already has such a low opinion of the President, will undoubtedly being hearing cases brought. And, eventually, Obama will not be reelected.

It will cost the country dearly and set us back many more than four years.

It's just ridiculous to say that any government program can reduce deficit. Can any DemoRat just name a government program that has ever reduced the deficit ? All government programs, both at federal and state levels, just grow bigger and bigger and lead to humongous deficits. If the current health care bill has 1 trillion deficit in the first 10 years, we can expect that it will be 2 trillion in the second 10 years.

Obama's root is in Kenya, that's why he doesn't care whether this country will be broke or not.

Obama, Pelosi and Reid "forget" that Obamacare is opposed by a MAJORITY of Americans. That's a MAJORITY.

If they strong-arm this abomination through, and I'm borrowing from Harry Truman here, they will suffer a rain of ruin the like of which NEVER has been seen in U.S. politics.

I love the dim talking point that the republicans did it. Please tell us what bill they passed that took over 1/6 of the economy that they used this deeming on? Please just name one thing they used it on? They did nothing of this nature or the MSM would have gone nuclear over it. You know it and we all know it but keep pushing the dim line like the sheeple you are.

Republicans did the same thing in 2005-2006

The House Republicans used the so-called "deem and pass" rules three dozen times in 2005-2006. They're now being hypocritical. As usual. And Cary is being totally disingenuous.

The Dems are being forced to use whatever is at their disposal to sidestep the roadblocks the Republicans are throwing at them. So to talk about transparency now is ridiculous--transparency is an overall picture, not a snapshot. In any case, it still takes a majority to pass any bills. That's the essence of democracy.

When the left wing Elites decide that they are no longer public servants doing the peoples will, and decide that they will rule over the people and subvert the Democratic process by imposing the most massive, corrupt, costly piece of legislation in our nations, history without even a vote, then we are on the path to tyranny. It isn't just unseemly for our legislators not to do their jobs and vote it is a dire danger to our Democracy and our Freedom. Liberals and Democrats should imagine their reaction if Pres. Bush were trying to force a massive piece of legislation on the nation, against its will, without a vote. We'd hear screams of Tyrant, and Nazi. They would be right! That Obama, Pelosi, and Reid have formed a Triumvirate to rule over us, without even the decency of a democratic vote, truly has us on the road to Tyranny. They should rethink! The Democratic process protects freedom and democracy for all of us. Once they subvert and damage it, it might not be so easy to recover. The damage they do could be incalcuable!!!

I love how the Democrats justify their sleazy dealmaking and corrupt legislative process by saying "WELL THE REPUBLICANS DID IT FIRST".

Hey stupids, I thought Obama was going to be different than Bush... I guess he LIED ABOUT THAT TOO. Looks like Obama is taking all of Bush's worst policies and PUTTING THEM ON STEROIDS... too bad Obama HAS ABSOLUTELY ZERO ACCOMPLISHMENTS, at least Bush actually got some things done.

Tony V of IL 4:47PM March 18, 2010

Obama is a very foolish little man. How he could do so much damage to this great nation in just a little over one year is frightening! He just wants his name up in lights! He will succeed in dragging his name through the mud and taking us down with it!

C. Wind of CO 4:47PM March 18, 2010

Obama could easily have had a good, incremental bill last august. All he had to do was to draft a Centrist bill that had the support of the majority of the voters. This would have forced Repubs into bi-partisan support for the bill. But, nooooo. Obama let Pelosi draft a radica radical Left Bill, the voters became enraged, and now a year later Obama has gone

all-in on this disaster of a bill. Obama is an ideologue who wants it ALL and wants it all on the Left.

"The republicans used reconciliation to pass important legislation first..." EXCEPT that welfare reform passed with the help of MOST DEMOCRATS TOO, as did Bush's tax cuts (at least 12 Democrats voted for) and EVERY OTHER piece of liegislation taken through reconcilation at the hands of the Republican senate.

"The republicans have used the deemed pass rule hundreds of times when they controlled the house of representatives..." Oh yeah? For what legislation? Why is it when all the democratic leadership in Congresss talks about how the republicans have done this all before, they never cite the specifics?

BECAUSE IT ISN'T REMOTELY THIS EGREGIOUS.
