So ... to plug the gap in spending, the House adds a surtax on capital gains?

Why is it everything this "team" of Obama, Reid and Pelosi concocts has massive tax increases -- like cap-n-trade initally proposed to add $700 billion to Federal coffers?

Why indeed....

Word to the wise on the CBO score: It's static, meaning it anticipates NO CHANGE in investors' behavior to avoid the tax. Well, in conversation with my little brother today, I explained to him very simply how to open an offshore entity and conduct his investments by "remote control." I guarantee he won't be the only one....

So ... drive capital offshore. Brilliant.

More than ever, I believe Obama was financed by China.

The real costs of this bill do not kick in until after the 10 year period of the CBO report. The CBO report also has a SIGNIFICANT caveat...that they HAVE NOT SEEN THE BILL yet so they cannot be certain of its cost. So...large costs not included...no bill to review...means that CBO report is meaningless.

What the House will pass over the weekend is the Senate Bill, complete with Cornhusker Kickback and Louisiana Purchase. They will also be passing a Reconciliation Bill, but that Bill has yet to pass the Senate and there is no timetable to pass one. Like all Senate business it will get mired down in partisanship and squabbling.

Meanwhile the vile Senate Bill will be the law of the land.

Did you realize that? The politicos all know it; they know there is no chance of fixing the Senate Bill anytime soon. That will be the scandal of this weekend's vote, if it proceeds.

Congressional Budget Office, considered by many to be non paartisan has come out with very encouraging report on Democrat Healthcare plan. Report says that the plan will cut deficit by $182 Billion in first 10 years and and $1.2 Trillion ! in the next 10 years, increase the solvency of Medicare by 9 years!and still provide the insured 32 million health coverage plan.

Why?.. Why?... Why?.. GOP want our nation to fail and media siding with their opinion.

To the fool "SillyRWingersDidTheSame" If the Rebublican majority did anything Clinton didn't agree with he could have vetoed the bill. This is why engaging in a debate with a libtard is futile, they have no concept of how our system of goverment works. Liberals are ruled by their emotions and the absense of the ability to reason anymore than our cousins on the evolutionary ladder the chimpanzee.

Many times in my life I raised my right hand and swore to uphold and defend the Constitution of The United States. This meant that I mave have had given my life if the process. Our Congressmen and Sneators that that oath also. All that they have to lose is an elected seat which they themselves asked for or in plainer words tey wanted us, the American citizener, to employ them and carry out our, the citizens, wants and desires within the law and the Constitution.

The Constitution does not ask for a wink and a nod for a bill to passed and enacted into law. No. it requires each house of Congress to actually vote on the proposed bill, the votes recorded and set down. Should the majority of each house pass the bill it becomes law after the President signs it if he does not veto it.

To say that a bill is passed without actually voting on it by enacting a rule which says that an unpopular bill is passed becaused the rule was passed does not strengthen the Costitution but violates the basic core of it. Any member of Congress who would vote for such a rule, in my opinion, violates his or her oath to the Constitution.

Even the Speaker of the House has said that no one wants to vote for this bill, she knows that it is toxic to any member of the House who has their fingerprints on it. They are more worried about what happens to the presidentcy and the president then about the people.

At one time there was a Whig party in the United States but it disappeared after 1860. There was also a No Nothing party. Should this Health Care Bill be enacted then I fear for the Democratic party; it today does not represent the values of Jefferson and Jackson.

They keep saying over and over: "If you don't vote for THIS bill, you are for status quo and you are voting against reform." Hogwash.

We are trying to tell him that we WANT health care reform, but this bill will cause fiscal and human suffering beyond belief. LOOK AT ENGLAND AND CANADA. Rationing, long waits, poor care, fewer drug choices. Why don't they consider Switzerland's excellent health care system? Because they wouldn't have the control, which is really what this is all about--not the sob stories of poor Natoma.

Americans aren't stupid and we aren't buying Obama's tired rhetoric anymore. What he says is exactly opposite of what he does.

I think the real crime here is that real health care/insurance reform could have been completely free and enacted immediately rather that 3 or 4 years down the road with thousands of pages of law.

#1. Tort reform to cap damage awards has been shown time and again to decrease health insurance costs significantly. Coast to implement: Zero.

#2. End of mandates and mandatory coverages. Some mandates increase coverage for individuals by as much as 100 dollars a month. Why should a 50 year old single male be required to have maternity coverage? Coast to implement: Zero.

#3. Make insurance available across state lines. Why not have 1200 insurance carriers compete for your dollar rather than two or three restricted to a single state? Competition works. Coast to implement: Zero.

#4. Make insurance portable. Why should you loose your insurance if you move from one job or state to another? Make it so the policy is attached to the buyer. Coast to implement: Zero.

These reforms could be implemented right now with a few pages if law and they would be free. They would make insurance cheaper for all and allow people to buy what they need. Oh, and did I mention that they would be free rather than cost trillions?

The present route to better health care (if indeed it will be better) will sink this country in red ink, treatment waits (if you can get treated at all) and lost freedom of choice. And that people is the real crime here.

Pass this bill! Don't pay attention to the people who do not have America's best interests at heart. Congress people who vote for this bill should defend it in November. Many people support some of its features, but are opposed to the bill because of the lies that were told about it. Tell the truth, and the people will come around
