You always make me think, and there aren't enough writers/pundits in America that do that today. Most of them scream at you, and tell us we're all idiots. Thanks for being one of the precious few who do it with class.

I differ with your politics, but I appreciate your well thought out polite comment.

Didn't obama campaign on no pork ? From either party. Yet all legisation have it.

The exchange between Obama and the GOP was eye opening. This is how they should engage one another; it brought a real sense of confidence in government to see Obama take questions from the GOP. He pretty much dismantled most of their talking points, took responsibility for some missteps and called them on their hypocrisy. I especially liked how he pointed out they voted against the stimulus that was filled with stuff they would normally support only to go to ribbon cuttings for projects funded

I don't care what you think of Obama no President has put himself out there like he has. He is not afraid to debate the issues in PUBLIC, he has an intimate knowledge of the issues and it shows a level of engagement not seen in quite some time. Leadership is facing all challenges head on, even those who wish you and the country failure. Please keep doing more of this

Besides just insulting you might throw in a few facts to back your statements.

Your comment comes out sounding like 'BS', to quote you.

in these "meetings" that their sound bites cannot be made to stick in any dedate with the smart president we have, they aren't going to want to "meet" any more. They're going to want to go home and talk to tea baggers who do not have any more sense than to believe them.

The pieces I saw of last Friday's meetings did not indicate that the GOP guys were doing anything except trying to B.S. again. It did not "fly".

Obama's meeting with the Republicans last week when he said, in candor, "I am no ideolog." My jaws still hurt from laughing so hard. The man's ego has overwhelmed any vestiges of reason he may have retained.

“Republicans threaten to filibuster”

How ? Republicans didn’t have the numbers to do so ! There have been no filibusters !

“I agree Obama should be out there debunking the Republicans.”

Since obama is wallflower and can’t debunk, you should here.

What are “failed Bush policies.”

Be specific.

Democrats caused this economic collapse after Bush and McCain warned and asked for more regulations. All Democrats voted against more regulation. Bush began warning in 2001. But then, maybe you're not talking about that.

You were vague.

I agree Obama should be out there debunking the Republicans. The problem is he is the President. It's not like he has plenty of time to talk to every pundit, every day, debunking all the right wing noise.

The problem isn't with Obama. The problem is spineless Democratic senators. The problem is our system gives the rural states too much power.

I would love to see it however.

"Thus far, Obama's talk has been a lot of rhetoric and blame it all on Bush"

Everything Obama has had to deal with is a byproduct of failed Bush policies. Republicans tried that crap on Friday and Obama laid down the numbers. The Democratic congress hasn't had resounding success because Republicans threaten to filibuster everything the Dems do. The Dems don't have enough votes to overcome the filibuster. It's that simple.

With demographics changing around the US, the Republicans had better start to formulate something substantive to offer.
