Where Are Women's Reviews of Sarah Palin's 'Going Rogue'?

I've been looking out for reviews of Sarah Palin's Going Rogue to see what other people, especially women, think of it. But I have to say, there haven't been a whole lot of reviews so far. (I'd love to know how many of those million-plus copies sold are actually being read.)

As I was checking to see if there were interesting reviews I could link to for you (we're a full-service blog here at Thomas Jefferson Street), I came across a roundup of early reviews by Time magazine that begins first with a link to a photo gallery of the "fashion looks of Sarah Palin" before actually summarizing the book reviews. Give me a break. A few weeks ago, Time listed its ranking of the top 10 political memoirs of all time—all 10 books were written by men—and there were no photo galleries of their "fashion looks" prefacing the book reviews.

Anyway, here's my review of the book. Please let me know if you agree or disagree.

It's hard to find a US news outlet that's willing to give Ms Palin a fair trial--to hear the other side of the stories that are being told. Remember the Rights that we were supposed to have according to the Bill of Rights? I look forward to reading Palin's book. I do however suspect it a bore as it just tells us what we already knew--Palin got the shaft by McCain and the media, and unfairly. At least I don't have to pay $50 to get Palin's signed, like Boxer's book required. Maybe political bloogers got copies of Boxer's book. There certainly were plenty of Boxer's books left over. How many of Boxer's books were purchased by tax monies for public libraries? Something is rotten in Denmark and if the US news outlets aren't willing to look into that stink, the rotten part is most certainly themselves. Huh? What stink? Sorry. He who smelt it, dealt it not.

It is very simple. Most women are smart enough to know that "Going Rogue" isn't worth the time it takes to even form an opinion about it. It would be nice if we still had a real news outlet in this country that was endowed with such wisdom. Hopefully such nonsense will prove to be the dying sputters of a movement that represents the worst America has to offer. I’ve been around for some 47 years and absolutely know we can do better.

Interestingly as a political blogger, I was not offered a copy of her book (probably because I'm a progressive). I would read it and review it if her publisher offered me onw, but I refuse to spend my money on it. The publisher of Going Rouge, on the other hand, is sending me a copy of that book!

But your question is a fair on. There are plenty of women, and especially moms, with blogs and who write online. The silence speaks volumes -- just not hers.
