As an all knowning seer of another's conscience ans soul, how do you explain the dishonesty and behaviour of other prominent Democrats such as Barney, Rangle, Geithner, etc?

something sorely lacking on the far Right these days. She looks at the facts and sees the obvious - something MUST be done.

The three D's are alive and well for the rest of them - dysfunctional delusional denial. The Right is getting nothing done, and all but the 15-20% of far Right types can see that the Repubs would rather do nothing than have a successful session of Congress that benefits you and me.

It is clear that the Republican Party is trying to control everything. There is still some independent thought in the Democratic Party , so at least they can discuss pros and cons among themselves.

Snow is the kind of Republican I used to vote for....the kind missing in most states, as most of them are now either silent, or party hacks with no thoughts of their own. It's not a political party - it's a Glee Club - !!!!!

is because members who stray from either ideology are threatened by the parties with non-support (or even primary opposition) at re-election time.

As for first comment below about what a "sell-out" Olympia Snowe is, yes, but her sell-out of her soul was in ever being a Republican. Her conscience is telling her something else with respect to health care reform---and that's why she's sticking her neck out.

Issues of right versus wrong is what polarizes.

Snowe's comment, "When history calls, history calls" is rather telling. It tells me she's a cheap, sell-out.

I believe she went against her knowledge of right and wrong. She went against her constituents who elected her to be a voice of conservatism. She went against her own party and its ideology. She went against her country and the very foundational, core set of principles used to build this nation. And for what? She went against the grain so she could grab her moment in history.

She was courted and wooed. She was treated like a princess for a day. She'll be kicked to curb like a one night stand once the ink dries. But she got what SHE wanted...everyone's attention. She saw the opportunity to grab some starlight and headlines and took it. Her selfish desire to be part of history is what mattered most . . . She didn't even care what side of history she'll land on. Just as long as it was "history".

Don't think that ego isn't important to these politians. They all have egos the size of Texas. But it was her ego that got stroked like a Saigon massage parlor. But her parlor visit is going to cost America for generations. Snowe just iced the slippery slope toward socialism.
