The whole "welfare state" mania is a lie. This is no different than when Roosevelt pulled this country out of the '30s, and the same political faction is opposing our current president now as the one that opposed FDR then.

Could it be that people are just tired of the forced exposure to Obama-mania? This guy is everywhere, all the time, in every media. His ego cannot understand that the US is not Europe. They are spared of this over-, force-fed exposure to him. They have no financial stake to worry about as a result of his domestic policies. They are not the ones risking a radical shift to a welfare state. They are not facing a seismic motion in governance philosophy. We are. Thus our response to him, now that the rose coloured tint from our glasses has worn out, is entirely fraught with alarm at the subterfuge pulled on us. Machiavelli would be proud of him.
