Cheney Believes do unto others as they do unto you.
I believe do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Torture is never acceptable and does not work because the enemy expects it because that is what they would do because they are not as mentally strong as those that do not believe in torture. Thats right torture is desperation or like a school bully torture like fear has no plan it just acts.
most of the time the person being tortured is going to say what you want them to say which is far from the truth. they would say anything to stop the torture but the truth.
having power over people weakens your common sense and invites mistakes
under estimating people invites failure.
treating prisoners like humans causes confusion and other emotions and then maybe the prisoner will see it your way,
Do the unexpected treat prisoners like humans

FFS. The bio blurb says she was a speech writer for George H.W. Bush - that's Bush Sr., president from 1988 - 1992.
Even all the way over here in Australia I know the difference. There really should be a test or something to restrict the grossly uninformed like you from voting.

Oh, NOW I see that Mary Kate is a former speechwriter for "Dubya." (if EVER an American President needed a speechwriter, it was the one who was in office from 2001 - 09. That person was capable of turning even the everyday remark into a tongue-twister) Now I understand why she was lambasting President Obama - as if it's any surprise that ANYONE who worked for the most recent former POTUS could have any objectivity about anything political! Now that I know where she's coming from, I know EXACTLY what to do with future entries by her - ignore 'em.

I am nauseated by the hatred i hear. The Bush admin was remarkable for its humility and effectiveness at governing. Now we move on only because history does. You are rabid animals, like all the radio hosts on the right. God bless Barach Obama, the small horn. But God grant the world integral light.

It is very brave of Mary to side with Vice President Cheney. After being demonized by the Democrat Party for the past eight years, siding with him resembles touching a third rail.
Each one of Cheney's points is solid and fact based. I am glad that some commentators are feeling compelled to agree.

Mary Kate Kerry should NEVER be allowed to serve as a member of a jury. She prefers good stories that illicit emotions over "boring" laws.
Don't you miss the good ol' days of a "concise and colorful" story-telling, nickname giving president who never worried about "constitutional law"?

Okay, I read the speeches.
President Obama's speech was a bit wonky. Hopefully, he'll help get the country back to the point where we can handle more than a seven second sound bite. He does directly challenge those who would upend the Constitution for the sake of expedience and leaves no doubt as to where he believes we, as a nation, should stand on the issue. Some might, I suppose, find that bullying.
I don't know how much of Cheney's speech he wrote himself, but his creepy, self-serving, smarmy dishonesty comes through in nearly every paragraph.
Ick, ick, ick.
I need to go take a shower.

ANYBODY who uses the words "human" and "compelling" in the same sentence as the name of our most recent former V.P. clearly needs his or her head examined. What are you, a member of one of those right-wing "think tanks"? ("Right wing" and "think tank" are clearly contradictions in terms!!) Dick Cheney is an evil, evil man. Why ANYONE is still listening to ANYTHING he has to say is beyond me!
