I THOUGHT IT WAS CHRISTIAN RONALDO OF MACHESTER UNITED (ENGLAND)FOOTBALL CLUB.PLS GET BACK TO ME NOW

Lincoln and Lee, Churchill and Lenin, Moe and Larry, and the cast of Saturday Night live..

Is your question serious? Naugh...can't be...LoL...

The problem with Ronnie, a so-called "conservative", was that he was really a big-spender in disguise, and the disguise was pretty thin. He ran really huge deficits, setting the stage for the even larger records set by Bush I and Bush II. So the race has been on ever since, except for a brief period of sanity under Bill Clinton (with due credit to Newtie).

Therefore, what is to stop Obama? Once he gets the huge mess left by W. cleaned up, and that may take a while, why won't he proceed with his own programs? I am not particularly fond of some of them, but Ronnie showed that money is no object if the people are behind you, or can be hoodwinked into that state.

To RL Schaefer: This may be too obvious to point out, but really calling people who like and support our president "Obamatrons" does little to recruit anybody over to the side of let's say the "Rethuglicans", the "Religious Reich" or the "Religitards". Ugly and demeaning mames can cut both ways and win few converts worth having. I have a hard time understanding how anyone can dislike Barack Obama to that extent. Apparently, you have no respect for anyone who believes in him. In reading your frequent posts, I know that you are a single issue voter. Since Obama comes down on the wrong side of that issue (for you), you condemn him. Some of us see shades of gray, strengths AND weaknesses, and the rays of hope that a bright, insightful, communicative and energetic young leader can bring.

You don't sound much like an Obamatron, but your post clearly demonstrates there are witless people on both sides of the support Obama movement!

Is Barack Obama the Next Ronald Reagan? Ronald Reagan wasn't even the next Ronald Reagan? He didn't accomplish half the things his legacy spinners claim. Barack Obama will be the next Barack Obama!

GTFOOH of CA 2:28PM April 05, 2009

I think Obama is a "transformative figure" - He's transformed a lot of witless young people into Obamatrons...

I do want to comment on the statements that America has had "unrestrained capitalism." Actually America has never practiced capitalism--according to its true definition--since our big businesses have always had help from the government in some way in order to conduct their businesses(think the railroads that were built on land granted by the government). I don't think that most big businesses want capitalism. They just want the government to make rules that assist them in making money and would be horrified if they were actually asked to be capitalists.

Why would you want to encourage "self-reliance"? What does self-reliance have to do with the lies you tell on this site? It's highly disingenuous how you say that you encourage "self-reliance" so that people will detect your lies. I think it says a lot about you.

Yep, just kinda hoping I could encourage a little self-reliance in the readership by bothering to look at facts. Facts and logic seem to have little bearing I suppose.

Facts are facts and opinions are opinions.

Good day to all.
