Embattled Democrat Calls for Obama to Fire Economic Team

He talks like he had nothing to do with all the bad policies that Washington has

passed these last 18 months. Perriello voted just as Polosi told him to do. He ignored the very people he was suppose to be representing. Now he acts as if he had nothing to do with it. He needs to go... he should have never been elected in the first place. He is a progressive with a capital P. When Howard Dean states that you are a wonderful representative that's a sure sign there is something wrong and the people of Virginia's 5th district need to pay attention.

I think you have this guy all wrong. He has the exact moxie (sp?) we need in a congressman. I thank him for voting with leadership for the healthcare bill. To indure the irrational and borderline violent town hall meetings without throwing both hands in the air and leaving, at least shows that Tom has the fortitude to suffer through the standard 'liar, liar, pants on fire" attack so prevalent in the adult political world. I think he is as "honest as a gunfighter can be". The voters that feel pressed and downtrodden should search hard for the truth these next two months. We are, to our credit, eternal optimists but things could get much worse.

They pay other regressive local taxes. If the system is so unequal that half the population owe no federal income taxes than it's time to reform the unequal system of wealth and income distribution.

Sure sounds like a different person that the one that votes in DC.

When will people be fed up with these politicians that ooze lies around

reelection time ever cycle.

Just look at his record, so he votes with Repubs 60% and with Dems 90%!!

How interesting.

The more working class American jobs Republicans' allies in Corporate America and Wall Street ship overseas, the poorer white people get, the madder they get at black people, and the harder they vote Republican.

It's called a positive feedback cycle.

“Take away from the poor and give to the rich?”

That is simple not true. About half of America pay no income tax. Thank your local rich person.

Largest redistribution in world history went to the poor. They called it welfare.

Please don’t feed me that garbage poor support rich.

The poor person provide very few jobs for people. Jobs filled in government there is that much more wages and benefit added to government overhead. Needing additional taxes collected. Whereas a private sector job adds revenue and no overhead cost for government. Relieving need for tax burden.

Tom Perriello did vote for obamacare which is reason enough not to be reelected. Doesn’t matter what his reason.

If Tom of VA wants to stick disgusting things in his mouth then that is his business.

Voters will decide in November. Let's break the record set in 1922 for Congressional party changes in off year Presidential election...

Bill Hedges of MO 1:33AM August 31, 2010

Nancy Pelosi doesn't tell Tom Perriello how to vote. Futhermore, what are the values of fifth district voters? Take away from the poor and give to the rich? One more thing . . . there isn't any such thing as a tea bagger patriot. You people need prozac.

Tom of VA 11:12PM August 30, 2010

Sad about Perriello and his chances. Sadder about the people who live south of the Mason-Dixon line, where deliberate ignorance, racialism and down-right meanness are the hallmarks of the white electorate. I say, let them live with with their choices in November. The South has been a moral, economic and intellectual blight on this nation for centuries. While most of the US is happy to live in the 21st century, tee-pee types and their ilk, evangelical trash and rednecks may just succeed in trashing another forward-looking presidency to reinforce the nation's permanent state of decline.

Tom Perriello has done an outstanding job on behalf of his constituents and there are many, many 5th District residents who are looking forward to seeing him back in Congress for another two years or more. Tom Perriello is the real deal -- hard working, thoughtful, accessible, and right on the issues. We love you Tom!

Yes he did call for the firing, because he was asked at a Town Hall meeting what POLICY do you disagree with OBAMA on? He could not come up with even one, though he real took a long moment to think about it. It is a cop out to pick on one individual that does Obama's economic policy bidding, but not pick on Obama's destructive depression creating economic agenda. Geithner is just another cool aid drinker who is doing EXACTLY what Obama has directed him to do, as are all the other economic team members. Firing them all would result in NO change to the Obama failed economic policies.

Tom votes 100% of the time as Nancy Pelosi tells him to on all major issues. Once in awhile she frees him from the leash, so his total overall vote is 96% down the party line. Tom is going to be voted out because he represents the liberal Democrats in DC and not the values of his 5th District voters.

Tom violated the voters constitutional free speech rights and then, wanted to get credit for "restoring" them when the Rutherford Institute threaten legal action(on my behalf when Tom's people dismissed my requests to stop violating the voters constitutional free speech rights) if he did not stop banning signs in his town hall meetings. This is like the arsonist wanting credit for putting out a fire that he started. Tom said, I won, so get over it. Tom got caught. We expect our representatives to PROTECT our constitutional rights not force us to threaten legal actions to get them back. Tom's Judgement Day is coming on November 2nd along with a lot of other liberal Democrats. Good by, One Term Tom.
