Massachusetts Message: Obama Must Drop Healthcare, Focus on Jobs

I was born and raised in Mass, and I think I have more to say about if the program is working or not in my syate. The only thing wrong with the program is that it isn't open to all. If I could drop my employer based hesalthcare I would in a heartbeat! "indigent" care... That is the problem with this country. People like you who are too selfish and shortsighted to understand. The whole idea is based on the common good. A concept that people of faith SHOULD understand. I sincerely doubt that anyone of good concience or sound intellect could say it is a bad thing. I would love to move to a warmer climate but the tolerance and foresight that my fellow people show in comparison with the rest of the country keepsme here. Our schools are better, and I don't have to worry that if my husband should become sick he won't get the care he needs. Here it is a given. Healthcare is not only for the wealthy.

I don't know where you are getting your propaganda from, but we have plenty of doctors to choose from and great hospitals too. Some of the best minds come to my beautiful state, and it's not for the balmy weather. It was 11 degrees this morning without the windchill. If we didn't have a great system the state would be empty.

Matter of fact we had to bring my father in law here from North Carolina because they wouldn't do anything for him down there. Here he has everything he needs paid for.

My husbands aunt who lives in florida was turned away for cancer treatment until she came up with thousands of dollars up front.

THAT would NEVER happen here. It's disgusting and immoral. That's what I don't get...how do all these GOPers try to say they are the religious right? No religion I know, or no follower of christ, would EVER condone that. Yet they do it all the time.

to them my father in law who worked all is life and worked HARD would be an indigent. Such derogatory words...he may be a right wing loonatic and hemay be a racist, but he is not an indigent.

Many studies have come to the conclusion that the Massachusetts Health Care Reform is in trouble, premiums have increased around 50%, health care access has declined, the program has become unsustainable, doctors have stopped taking new patients, young people are declining to locate in Massachusetts due to the mandate, etc., etc.

It would be fair to citizens of Massachusetts if the state admitted that the program doesn't work and begin the process of withdrawing the health insurance mandate. Investigation and study should be made as to why insurance premiums increased by the purported 50% since the legislation passed. I think we all feel the burden of dealing with insurance companies and rising premiums.

I don't have answers. In Texas, there is a state-mandated "indigent" health care plan and few qualify as the income and resource limits are so low. It finances illegal health care in our state - which means that illegals have had more access to health care than I have at some points in my life.

Until we address the immigration issue in our country and force them to leave - the entitlement programs are drained by the constant care.

In listening to Obama's and Pelosi's response to Brown's success, their comments focused on health companies' propensity to drop clients who had catastrophic diagnoses, refusal to pay claims, and denial to access. Why didn't these politicians consider expanding Medicaid or Medicare? Some of the stories would have surely involved the Disability Act - which we know has the punitive effect of denying Medicare for a year AFTER a disability is found by the federal agency. This change alone could alleviate problems encountered by the sickest or terminal patients.

I would like to say thank you to all who voted yesterday in Mass. You did this country a great service by sending a message to Obama and Congress. People in this country have decided that our government is their mother and they need to suck those nipples dry! Why can't you people ween yourselves? Welfare is there to help someone when they are down, not to provide for you until your kids turn 18. Our government has gotten bigger then Obama's ego, and there is no end in sight. It seems that every day there is a new government position assigned to another tax evader. I personally don't have medical coverage right now. I am very careful about what I do because of that. I haven't needed to go to the doctor in quite some time. Now if this healthcare bill goes through, I could be sent to jail if I don't aquire healthcare. I will become a criminal for being uninsured? That sounds suspicious to me. Why do they want to run my healthcare so bad? Sounds like they have control issues. I don't want the Gov't telling me that I cannot go hiking because it is too dangerous and they don't want to cover me if I gt hurt. I don't want the Gov't telling me I can eat certain foods because they are unhealthy. Think this can't happen?? Look at what they did here in California. They made it illegal for restraunts to sell foods with trans fats. I used to love the french fries at McDonald's. Now they taste like crap. I am 5'11" and about 165lbs. I don't think my weight is a problem, but my gov't does. People are under the misconception that this healthcare bill will give them "free" healthcare. All it will do is raise the taxes of those who actually work. The only people who will really be getting anything close to free healthcare are the people who already mooch off of society through welfare. I already work to support two people, I do not see why I am obligater to support your family too. Learn a trade and get a job, oh, I forgot, the people who support this bill also want to give amnesty to illegal immigrants, even though there are obviously not enough jobs to go around. Can't get a job? I have one for you....Grab a hammer, go south and start helping with the fence! You wont only be working , but you will be helping make this nation a more stable place. Hate the fact that people in your neighborhood are addictesd to crack cocaine and are shooting each other over street conrners? Help us secure the border. That cocaine, you remember, the coke that was in the crack your cousin was shot for? Yeah, that was smuggled across the border from mexico. You know who smuggled it? The same people you think came here for an opportunity for work. Well guess what? They already had a job. It was to supply people with... you guessed it... COCAINE. So get off your lazy ass and at least make phone calls to your congressman and tell them you want stricted border control. Get off your lazy ass and get a job. They ARE out there if you look!

Ask the people in Mass. how the whole National Healthcare thing works..... It dosen't! People need to worry about "THEMSELVES." Our seniors are so very important to society and it is going to make their healthcare problem even worse. As far as well able bodies that are not granted disability, and Medicare/Medicade, then get off your butt, and work, and try doing something Americans haven't heard of since Obama has taken over..... BUY YOUR OWN!
