I agree with Carl of San Antonio Congress needs to be set on a regular pay scale. Do you know of any other place or buisness that allows the employee to decide his own pay scale. Or that allows them to determine if they deserve a raise. If you ask the voters you wont see any raises coming.

To add VAT is not going to stop or even curb the deficit Congress is on aission to spend the Money.

Every section of govt has an annual budget and they save it till the end of the fiscal year. Thats when the wish lists come out and things are bought and done to use that budget Why save the money if we dont usei it we lose it. Exactly why the Govt is so non productive, and over priced.

Congress should be made to work with in a budget and if they cant then replace them. Tell me in the Constitution were it says raise taxes every chance you get. Give me a reason to believe that 780 Billions spent to keep unemployeement down below 8% didnt work. But lets yax more because of total incompetence has run amuk.

Rember politicians dont pay taxes like most people. They play the Charlie Rangle or Tim Gietner game. If a Normal Tax paying citizen would have acted this way they would be in jail. So much fo equal treatment under the law.

Not only that after they did it to hold a position which should require a security clearance. Whose doing the Background check. People in the military have lost clearance for minor problems Marital, Financial.

Shouldnt congress and Cabinet apointees be held to a minimum standard.

As stated in other responses giving govt more money does nothing except cause them to spend more. They dont know what they need they only know what they want and its up to the tax payers to buy it.

As stated if Congress cant pass a budget and live by it then its time to go to many career politicians anyway. The time has come and the elections are close incumbents cant say Ill miss you.
