Obama’s Final Healthcare Reform Push

Medicare Advantage offers benefits that Original Medicare does not offer. For example, dental, vision, cancer screenings, prescription drug and prescription drug gap coverage. Seniors with Original Medicare have to purchase two private insurance policies to obtain these benefits.

Actually read the CBO report. Sizings of the healthcare bills state that the estimates are based on the legislation as written and DO NOT account for future changes to legislation. How can an estimate that spans 10-20 years covering more than $25 Trillion in spending per decade accurately state that they will "save" $130 Billion (that's <0.4% of the spend)? Any experience of forecasting and any concepts of large numbers such as these brings the realization that there is NO WAY their estimates can be correct.

One thing all the CBO estimates to date have included: ~$500 Billion will be sucked from Medicare and deviated to the "new" bloated government program of healthcare. Also, there is ~$500 Billion shown in all the preceding CBO estimates as incremental revenue (read that as taxes, ladies and gentlemen). Who exactly is going to pay that $500 Billion? Will the "rich" will pay for it? Really? Define rich for me? Will the "rich" pay $3000 more? Will they pay $30000 more? What's the number? The fact is everyone will pay more.

Adding 30 million people to the healthcare problem and stating that the government will "save" money by eliminating waste is a ridiculous statement. There is no example of the government saving money or of eliminating waste. It is laughable. In 10 years, when this program is completely unfunded, they have eliminated all private insurers, healthcare costs have increased more than expected, healthcare is rationed and waste is rampant, I guess I'll be able to say "I told you so." However, that assumes the healthcare system allows me to reach that age and oh, I'll have to say it differently. Let's try, "I told you so, comrade!"

Is the U.S. going to submit to these deeply socialist ideas? Why? For the false promise that the government will take care of us? The politicians are simply doing what they can to maintain power. The real problem is not the politicians. The real problem is that socialists are doing everything they can to shift this country further toward complete federal control.

If you want state-run healthcare - move to Massachusetts or one of the other states that are failing with undue liabilities. That is the way the Constitution was constructed - states should have this right - not the federal government.

We need to realize there is an increasing divide in this country based not on race, age, religion, but on political idealogy. If you want government to control your lives, move to China, Russia, or Iran.

Where do those who want the pleasure and the responsibility of freedom go in the world now?

The majority of us are against this huge government health care bill. Passing such an enormous bill will cost everyone, except the insurance companies. We would all be forced to buy health insurance, thus lining the pockets of the insurance companies.

How much clearer can it be said? Large scale government reform is not reform, but control.

Reform is allowing the people to dictate. Lowering the state boarders would allow people to choose thereby forcing insurance companies to compete..that would be a great start.

Why do we haved to have thousands of pages of legislature? Why do we have to have backdoor deals? Why do we have to be forced into buying insurance?

And here's a great question; how on earth did Americans manage before govt-run education, subsidies, welfare, medicare, medicaid, govt paid school lunches and breakfasts, food stamps, social security? I am in shock at how the world must've looked 20, 50, 70 years ago. I can only imagine that children sat in the street starving next to grandma, kicked to the curb. Everyone, except the very rich, hacking up their sick lungs.

My God, it must've been horrible. No-one ever had a retirement, because they were too stupid to save for one without govt help. Or any health care, because we're all too stupid to provide communitee run clinics or hospitals such as St. Judes or Le Booehner's. Clearly, we are all idoits without the govt's specific direction.

What a shock it must be for people to think, at any time, that they are wholly responsible for themsleves and their lives. What a shock it would be if the country operated under the delusion that people got out of bed to make their kids a lunch. That communities would have volunteers for everything from fire prevention to health clinic aid. Surely, none of these things exist, which is why we need the government to do everything for us. The next time I need to blow my nose, I expect a govt employee to hold the handkerchief.

From handouts to expectation. From exepectation to dependency.

Nothing in life is guaranteed. Except death and taxes, and taxes, and taxes, and taxes....

If you only read these last words, life isn't fair. And it is not the responsibility of the sterile government to make it so. It is yours alone.
