Carlos Mencia always says it best when it comes to this topic.

Being politically correct in any thing is retarded. So what...what's the big deal. I have been called everything but a white man, when in fact I am a white man. I have even been called a nigga. I wasn't offended, because I am not shallow.

I think, if it is okay for a black person to call another black person "MY Nigga", or any other N word, then it should be okay for everyone else to. If I cant use the N word, then they can't use the C word...for Cracker. It is all stupid. Political Correctness is stupid. Not being able to tell someone to shut up, is stupid. It's a good thing I don't follow orders well, because I will continue saying whatever I wish to say.

I am still planning on voting on Sarah Palin...again, if she don't get stupid over stupid stuff like this. Being in politics, you don't need your emotions on your sleeve.

Sometimes being "PC" may involve just being aware are other peoples feelings. I realize in a political office that is not always possible. But being a mother of a Downs child, it makes me proud to know he is smarter than several political figures in Washington. Since the President made a similar blunder himself, it seems to truly be a game of follow the leader. To bad this adminitration seems to share the same brain when it comes to disabilities.

My first response to reading this story about Palin scolding Rahm was "Oh good grief! Republicans are playing the politically correct card now." Now, back in the good ol days, it was only the most liberal of Democrats who cried foul when someone's feelings got hurt.

Now about myself... I am a Republican 98% of the time when I am casting my vote and I am Conservative 100% of the time when I vote. I voted for McCain only becaue he had Palin as running mate! I have one cousin in particular who is retarded. We label him as being "autistic" to make his condition not seem as bad as it really is. I do believe that it is God's divine will that he be born the way he is. I don't understand why he was born like that, but I leave that up to the Creator.

Now it is absolutely silly (using the word to it's fullest extent) to try to end the use of the word "retard" or "retarded". When I hear that word, I never think of some person who actually IS retarded. I seriously doubt that 99% of mature adults do either! Middle school and high school boys will snicker about it, but so what? They grow out of it believe it or not. Do you want to ban a word because of some immature boys??? Now granted, I am NOT a Rahm Emanuel supporter by any stretch of imagination. If he gets canned tomorrow, that's fine with me. But for someone to scold him and then everyone PILE ON is not ony ridiculous in this situation, but it's cowardly as well. If we're going to get him fired, why not fire him for something worth while?

Don't get me wrong, I like Sarah Palin, but in this case, she's way off base. I don't know if she's jsut using this as free publicity, trying to stay in the public's view or is her skin just a tad bit thin? If it's a case of the latter more so than the former, the Republican leadership needs to get her to "straighten up and fly right" if she's going to be the next Republican candidate for President. Personally, if she keeps leaving her feelings on the floor for any and everyone to step on them, she will certainly lose my vote.

If the n-word is as offensive as the r-word why can I write one and not the other without web-bots immediately rejecting one and not the other?

Can we please stop siezing on every word spoken by a public figure (be they in politics, business, or entertainment)insisting on a level of political correctness that none of us maintains? If a public figure goes into a discussion that is contrary to common moral sense, makes extensive use of offensive language, or purposely, and with some detail, vilifies or degrades another person or group of people, that is potentially a serious matter. A single word such a "retard" or "Negro" used in a potentially inappropriate sense is a significant act only for those whose minds are too small to encompass what is going on in the world, and should never be done by anyone unless they be so free of that sin that they can elevate themselves to that lofty throne of judgement.

Oh please that woman is a retard herself. Her son is probably more intelligent than she is.

The woman is an idiot and anyone who supports her is just as much so.

I hope she runs for President. She'll make it easy for liberals to win!!

GOD I can't stand that stupid white, trailer trash.

Maybe someone could inform Ms Palin that this isn't middle school anymore and that her indignation only indicates she lacks the thick skin to be involved in politics. Not to mention she hardly has the necessary intelligence and experience to play in the big pool. Her ilk is better suited to more Twitter/Facebook activity.

WEll I think he should be sent back to the Chicago mafia. But then the Office of the President would be without direction, certainly the President needs someone tell him what to say and do, perhaps a replacement not trained by the Capone faction.

so he used colloquial slang in a private setting? i'm sure i've shot down plenty of ideas as "retarded". nothing you wouldn't hear on a NYC sidewalk. and i wouldn't change MY language because YOU have a problem with certain words.
