Only when we see government acting in a responsible manner will the common taxpayer agree to pay more taxes. Just as we have to tighten our belts during hard economic times, so must government.

The taxpayer doesn't agree to pay taxes. The government makes us pay or go to prison. If all people would refuse to pay the taxes together, the govern would be forced to cut spending, however, all people will never stick together to make this happen.
