Liberals simply don't get it. These people are war criminals and have absolutely no legal right to be in our court system.

Yes they do. Everyone has rights in this country, or they did until the patriot act slipped through a puppet congress and unbelievably corrupt administration. Several officials in the Bush administration are also war criminals but will never see trial. Our court system is designated to doll out justice for the people. This facet of government does not belong to the executive branch, and holding them as political prisoners and torturing them is inhumane. The people assigned to police our country can not act as judge jury and executioner. This often leads to some of the worst atrocities in history, i.e. hitler. If you value your safety above your liberty you are doomed to have neither because you will be led by the nose by any facist government that finds it convenient to point you at whichever enemy allows them to consolidate power. Your family is much more likely to be endangered by the destitute people in this country than by the destitute people our military complex exploits in the middle east. We need to work on freedom and democracy at home before we can think to preach it to the developing world, which tends to take the form of a trillion dollars a week in military spending and bombing them.
