Obama's plan may not be the best, but isn't it worth saying that in a meaningful way rather than just scaring people by saying "death panels," "rationed care," etc?

We do not need a health care like any other nation we are Americans lets have an American plan.
Lets not worry about what others have lets have something special that is all American unlike any other plan.
Let us come together as Americans and work something out we all can be proud of.
We can do it if we stop looking for flaws in one another and start looking at our strengths.
What ever party you are you still have your own needs and opinians and we are all Americans

True, Obama's plan is not the best. That's because single payer is the best. Obama's is second best.
As for making coherent arguments against single payer or Obama's plan, the reason they summon up "death panels" and "rationing" is that THERE ARE NO COHERENT ARGUMENTS.
If you want the best care for the most people at the lowest cost, government has to set the standards and control the traffic. If you want the best care for the richest people, well, that's another story, and that's the story they're stickin' to with "death panels" to avoid admitting the true pay-or-die nature of what they wish to retain.

If Republicans truly believed that staying away from any kind of government-run health insurance provider was truly what the people wanted, then dismantling Medicare should be a slam-dunk. They could easily win the election on that platform!
The reality is, if the Republicans tried to do that, they'd never be elected ever again.
So, if it's good enough for the elderly, our veterans, the disabled, and the impoverished, is it really going to be so bad for the starving, working family who can't make ends meet? We're all one pink slip away from this fate, after all.
Furthermore, the rampant, evil practice of denying coverage to those who are faithfully insured just goes to show that for-profit health care is close to no health care at all. Talk about rationing care!
