Time is here to TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK. This is to be STOPPING these people that we all elected to STEP DOWN(resign)and GET OUT OF Washing D.C. for GOOD. If this HEALTH PLAN of theirs is so GOOD then THEY ALL SHOULD BE FIRST IN LINE TO SIGN UP OF THIS PLAN OF TEIRS. If they DO NOT, then we THE TRUE AMERICAN PEOPLE should RECALL every one and START our GREAT COUNTRY over AGAIN.

GOD BLESS AMERICA.

You obviously haven't actually taken the time to READ anything by Ron Paul. Ron Paul (and maybe his son Rand) are the ONLY ones who DO know what's really going on and how to get things back on track.

Michael Wagner of FL 6:44AM August 28, 2009

Yup. You heard it and I am not saying that it has to be Dr. Ron Paul. But the fact is that none of the republican candidates of 2008 had the chance to begin with to defeat any of the democrats, except for Ron Paul and maybe Mike Huckabee and I am saying Huckabee solely because Huckabee has the likability that you want in a president. The sad truth is that the media fixes the debates in such a way that highlights some candidates more than others. For example, John McCain was mention a lot more than Ron Paul in the mainstream media. Not to mention that he would not get enough time in the debates like all the others.

In my opinion, Ron Paul is a great candidate, but he might be a bit old. However, Dr. Rand Paul (Ron Paul's son) is running for senate in Kentucky and may run for the presidency. Former governor of the state of New Mexico Gary E Johnson is a possible candidate for 2012, and formidable one in my opinion.

I suggest we research republicans more before we name-drop those who lost the last elections.

Ron Paul is just a likable man who has a gift for common sense. We who follow him would not jump over a cliff if he strayed from his better judgement and thought he could fly, or vote to raise taxes, or promote unjust wars, or if he claimed he could perform miracles such as creating money from ink & paper then cure all the sick & lame with this paper of magical value.

As for the US Constitution, we do follow that set of principles enthusiastically. But are we silly for actually knowing what is written in this document, or are politicians silly for raising their right hand and promising to defend the rights and governmental limits outlined in this parchment? Republican or Democrat, they usually break that promise within hours.

Cults are associated with brainwashing, following blindly, accepting ideas without understanding, placing emotion above logic, and drinking kool-ade willingly.

Ask a Paul supporter to define the Federal Reserve, or how fractional reserve banking, or why the Patriot Act is absolutely unpatriotic, why the move toward health care reform is not only wrong, but illegal. Then research these things yourself. Let go of your beloved party for a few moments and think for yourself, and compare your favorite candidates for one moment and ask yourself if they would willingly literally take office by uttering their first official lie.

Read the Constitution, and if you disagree, then work to change it.

Until then no politician is perfect, but one simple oath of office and their following actions should show you exactly where this nation went off track.

Sarah Palin and Bobby Jindal are the only hopes. Bolton, too.

Romney and Paul have no clue and no possible chance, whatsoever.

People.......read and think. Reading and thinking is your friend.

Ron Paul will make a comeback in 2012. He is the only one of the above mentioned with the integrity, humility, consistency, and history the be a great NATIONAL leader. As we found out with OBAMA, just you look and talk slick Mitt, doesn't mean you're policies will reverse the damage done. Frankly Mitt would just fiscally skim the surface. Ron Paul has many NEW votes for 2012 and with a highly young and energized following of new voters coming on to the scene in 3 years and a continued success with his highly active CAMPAIGN FOR LIBERTY organization...... he will have the support it takes to take on Obama.

David of GA 10:41PM August 27, 2009

Does anyone really believe Sarah Palin is competent?

Randy of ID 9:33PM August 27, 2009

Yes! Ron Paul is a good congress man and also a good leader, but he is not a national leader, he can be a republican leader but can't be an America leader and can't win the presidency,Sarah Palin is same problem with Ron Paul, just a gov job she can't finish it, how can she handle the government job,or she more enjoying the campaign than seating in the office, because the taste of campaign is too sweet but the job in the office is too boring, I don't think that Sarah will be the best choice for the republican in 2012 or republican will take one more defeat because a defeat is not enough for you guy, don't just turn by the wind or fall in love with the good talker or funny talker, the country will calapse or you will lose again. Mitt is the right man for America, Mitt is the strongest leader,Mitt is the smartyest person, Mitt is the man of character, Mitt is the most track record,Mitt has leadership style,Mitt is a national leader, and he can be a world leader,Mitt can beat Obama by landslide in 2012,because he is an America true leader, is not a fake leader like Mr. Obama from Kenya.I will be with the right man, will be with the winner, I did not belive that Mccain will be the winner and I also don't believe that Obama can be a good president, more than that I have never believe that Obama will be elected as the president, because I believe in America principle,I don't know that America will forgot themself. When America has the strong leader, has the smart president, the world will follow America like Reagan did,but when America has the weak leader, the world will lead America as Obama follow them.

Ron Paul is the only true Republican and champion of the Constitution. The other stooges have no idea what limited govt. means and certainly have no interest in studying the Constitution.

Only Ron Paul is for-

- ending the undeclared wars

- auditing the Federal Reserve (and then ending it)

- abolishing the IRS and the income tax. (come now- do you really care how the govt. will continue to be funded?)

- end the torture of detainees

- end the Patriot act

- end FISA

- end the evil MCA

- end the domestic, electronic spying on us by the NSA

Neither Palin, Romney or Huckabee have demonstrated or talked about returning our country to the Republic it once was. What are their positions on the "bailouts"? They haven't said they are unConstitutional and it's apparent that none of them, except Ron Paul, really have an understanding of the role of govt.

Gina Forday of NE 5:20PM August 27, 2009

Mike, you make valid points that the Ron Paul supporters appear to be "cult-like" in your words. Yes, there are some paralells to supporters of Ron Paul and those of Obama, but here's the big difference. Obama was voted in promising freebies and handouts. Ron Paul is promising no such thing.

The reason why his supporters (myself included) are so passionate is because there is nobody else with his voting record. I dare you to find ONE "fiscal conservative" in Congress that has the voting record of Ron Paul. What's more is he has been saying the exact same thing for 20 to 30 years now. There are videos from 1983 and 1988 where he sounds exactly the same, but just looks 20 years younger.

Romney? Really? The same guy who had RomneyCare in the state of Mass ? The same guy who flipped then flopped then flipped then flopped on Abortion? And Tom Ridge? Ridge recently admitted that the Bush administration pressured him to raise the "color code alert" to Red just prior to the 2004 elections. Doesn't seem like a guy who will stand on his principles and integrity.

I appreciate that the comments about Mr. Paul are more respectful, but people seem to want the more "socially acceptable" candidates that are not on the "lunatic fringe", as told to them by the fourth estate, the mainstream media. I don't get it. If Palin is truly the real thing, then she's Ron Paul with 25 less years of experience. If Romney is the real thing, why did he belittle and mock Paul at the debates? If Ridge is the real thing, why didn't he stand up to the Bush administration and say "NO!" to their request?

Like it or not, Ron Paul is the only one with the 30+ year voting record that is virtually impeccable. He's the only one that each and every one of us know is sincere in his beliefs. He's one of the few that isn't controlled by special interests. Lobbyists don't even bother going to his office! I can't understand the argument of "well, if only it weren't for his supporters being cult-like, I would be more for him, but I think I'm going with the Romney-Ridge ticket instead". It doesn't seem logical to me, and it seems like you are cutting off your nose to spite your face.
