This was so right on - I am duplicating a previous comment - Yes Americans all want health reform - its the in-pocket polliticians and media groups and multi-billion $ medical companies that pay the in-pocket politicians and media that dont want reform ...

Pass healthcare reform, with or without the whining GOP.

Pass healthcare for Americans fed up and disgusted with purchased GOP politicians and corrupt media that will say anything for a buck or ad revenue from drug ads.

Ignore the reactionaries who have already bankrupted this country and would like to continue to bleed the country.

Pass healthcare regardless of how much drug peddlers pay for opinions and polls to lie otherwise.

How is Rasmussen polls are only ever mentioned by the right wingnuts, and they ignore all the polls that direct;y contradict the conservative pollster.

Oh they swear by another polling outfit wholly owned by United Health, too. Polls are like lawyers, you can always hire another one with an opposite position.

Sorry to burst your bubble, a majority of Americans want healthcare reform and Democrats apparently won the last election as far as I recall. Special interests are trying to undermine our democratic process by lies and deception. Democrats have wasted too much time trying to get a few Republicans to go along.

First off, it's not the leaders of his party that he can't convince. It's the moderates. The liberal leaders are having no problem adopting what he wants in a health reform plan. The so-called Blue Dog Democrats, which are a group of fiscally conservative moderate Democrats, are in disagreement with some of Obama's prescriptions.

HillbillyBill is right -- Obama did not write a plan -- but he gives the wrong reasons. While I'm sure the Constitution figured into his thinking somewhere, the fact is that this is more about detaching the actual bill from his name. He can say "I wanted this, but I got this" and no one can dispute that. It's good politicking. That said, by dictating to Congress what he wants in a plan, he essentially *is* the owner of the plan, even if he's not actually penning it himself.

Lois, can we skip the propaganda and talk about issues? Oh wait, I (and a plurality of American voters according to a recent Rasmussen poll) must be paid by the insurance companies too, right?

... and just more bogus misinformation that was probably paid for by the Gardasil Ads in USWNR.

Flim Flam publications/websites in the pocket of the drug companies like this one put out just the dumbest arguments possible and reinforce the need to proceed with healthcare reforms regardless of these mercenary opinions.

He didn't write one. He asked Congress (the legislative branch of government) to write one that met the goals he set out.

So far, they haven't done so. They are too used to previous presidents writing a plan and telling them to submit it back for signature.

This president has read the Constitution and know how government is supposed to work and is waiting for the legislative branch to legislate.
