Pondering Sarah Palin's Reasons for Quitting

Oh well, as a person to usually votes Democrat I was really hoping that Sarah would run for the next Pres election and pull all of the extreme voters over to her side so they could all stand together and be soundly defeated as a group.

But apparently Sarah's self defeating behavior - finally got the best of her and caused her to drop out leave the highest office in Alaska. She has a track record of doing this. Check out her college history. This will probably kill her chances to be the lead far right winger in the Repub party. So the right wing extremists will have to look for another right wing extremist magnet to attach to.

Sarah was so much fun to watch. Comedy that good is hard to create. Now what is Saturday Night live going to do during the next round of elections? Loren Micheals is probably devastated.

Hopefully the Repubs will be able to come up with another character as clueless as Sarah. Until then the Dems can only hope.

It sure was fun while it lasted.

I don't find Sarah Palin particularly inspiring, nor do I abhor her. Perhaps that's because I've seen and heard enough to surmise that, at the end of the day, Sarah is not really about America. She's not even about Alaska. In fact, many of her decisions and actions suggest that she may not be all that into the first dude and brood. As a mother and a Christian, I was pretty appalled at her willingness to trot out her new, special needs baby and expectant teen daughter for national consumption.

What seems very evident to me that, first and foremost, Sarah is about Sarah. And I just can't get too fired up about that one way or the other.

Exists only in the confusion of the media seeking comedy relief.

The hypocracy and double standards of the American Left never ceases to amaze me. The myopic neophytes who were whining about Palin not be home to Govern effectively while taking speaking engagements are the one who are now jumping on the never ending make Sarah Palins life a hell band wagon. I find it comical they are still berating and belittling her daily... Seems to me the only logical (you knoe logic dont you lib? Wait maybe not.) answer is they are afraid.

What hurts the most is that she was a new face in the party and now the democratic mainstream media can brag about her nervous breakdown and resignation..when they included her family in the ridicule..American politics is racist, sexist, homophobic environment sorry Alaska you're finished!

I have read numerous comments by Sarah Palin's supporters and they all sound so defensive and angry. They also lack a sense of humor. Bill Maher was so right on when he said the right has moved over to the mental ward.

Thank you Sarah, for helping Barack Obama win the 2008 elections. McCain probably could have lost it without you, but you certainly tipped the moderates.

Good luck killing animals in Alaska.

Long after McCain is dead, buried, and forgotten, we'll still be talking about Sarah Palin. She was, it seems, contentedly living her dream as queen bee of her frost-covered beehive when "someone" - no one wants to admit who - decided to tell this visionary/delusional politician she was just the kind of person we need one heartbeat away from the presidency, i.e. in a pinch, you could be the most powerful person on earth. At the time, her willingness to receive this as a possible reality may have seemed a bit amazing. Now, we have come to believe that both nothing and everything about her vision of reality is amazing. In Sarahland, there are no contradictions. The worm is the spice; the spice is the worm. The quitter is the winner, because a winner never quits. The people she’s talking to know who she’s talking to. The people she is standing up for know who she is standing up for. Sara Palin has come home. She was born to lead her people. She is that truly unique politician with the intellectual depth to absorb even the deepest political-economic theory and fluidly articulate it in a manner that enlightens and astounds both the experts and the masses – as long as it can be printed on a bumper sticker and read from a quarter mile away. She was born to lead those people who buy and read those bumper stickers. These are her people. They are the same people who have made Rush Limbaugh far wealthier and more influential than his one-trick-pony-show talents warrant. Don’t underestimate their willingness to do the same for her. There is a lot more to politics than politics, and frequently, it pays better than “politics as usual”.
