What I think is amusing is the people who think that, by some extension of the Civil War, states have no right to secede the union. Those who think that states can not secede are NOT American, and have NO CLUE about our history! EXHIBIT A: Declaration of Independence.

The only thing the Civil War proved is that, when allowed to act outside his lawfully limited authority, a U.S. president is capable of unleashing horrendous violence against the lives, liberty, and property of those whom he pretends to serve. The Confederate States (including Texas) withdrew from the Union lawfully, civilly, and peacefully, after enduring several decades of excessive and inequitable federal tariffs (taxes) heavily prejudiced against Southern commerce.[4] Refusing to recognize the Confederate secession, Lincoln called it a "rebellion" and a "threat" to "the government" (without ever explaining exactly how "the government" was "threatened" by a lawful, civil, and peaceful secession) and acted outside the lawfully defined scope of either the office of president or the U.S. government in general, to coerce the South back into subjugation to Northern control

I do not think we are to the point of secession yet, but I believe Perry was simply stating the truth, that if things don't change, this could very well be a possibility (who knows what might happen). I commend him for not being afraid to speak the truth.

reat Article and I must say that being born in Texas and always wanting to go home has a big yearning in my heart. Texas is an amazing place and even if the social climate of the time when the original constitution was drafted for the Sovereign State of Texas may have been for evil reasons to enslave Native Americans and Africans it does not change the motive for this new revolution. The Revolution in everyones heart to live Free. I am Human but when Washington uses economic slavery to whip us into shape we have to change.

If Ron Paul cant Audit the Fed and we are still making more debt then why keep using a money system that is not Constitutional.I do not feed into conspiracy at all but when you find out that Jackl Island really did happen, and the Articles of the Inhabitants of America still reign true today you have wonder and wonder on Action.

Free the Native Americans and give them their land back and Secede into freedom.

No more hiding your guns as to be polite Open Carry says I will not be enslaved, and that is why Succession is immeasurably important to the Freedom of my home,The Sovereign Republic of Texas.

"Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."
