I too am a GM Retiree from the finance division. I have never seen so many non GM people that would like us to give up our retirement and benefits. They all have definite opinions about what should happen to GM. They also have jobs with benefits and don't give a hoot about what happens to us retirees. You had better walk in my shoes before you pass judgement. Everyone has decided to become judge on jury for GM. Well I worked my years and gave it my all, so I do not want the company to go bankrupt. It's a losing situation for everyone.

Is anyone aware of the FACT that Advisors (Management)running areas in assembly plants are paid $60,000 to $70,000 a year. Most of these people (60%) are unqualified, under-educated and "related" to upper management. These people are not able to solve basic day to day problems involved with the build of the product. They are overpaid attendance clerks. Under the "Team Concept" enviroment the Team Leaders, handle work assignment, supplys, and build problems. These team leaders are union hourly workers. Why would GM hire new labor (hourly) in at $14 an hour and continue to pay attendance clerks $70,000 a year?

I do not blame Management for all of the problems GM has. The Union gets 50% of the blame, but $14 an hour newhires being managed by Advisors making $70k a year is wrong. There are many other outdated policys used in assembly plants that the public is not aware of, continued goverment funds for GM is a waste of taxpayers money.

I think a company should be held accountable for pensions. If the one's at the top can still be making their big bonus's and Wagner getting a big pension everyone else should get their pension also. Many of these workers gave years of their lives to make GM the company it was and should be today. Greed from the top has taken over and the little person is paying for it.

Totally depressing.

The reason people are not buying GM right now is because they will not buy from a bankrupt company or one that might go into bankrupct. Its a sad fact surgical or whatever you want to call it Bankruptcy is the name and people will have nothing to do with that game. So I suggest that they stay out of bankruptcy and stop with the threats of bankruptcy because it is only affecting sales. The unions have taken enough cuts the retiree's are locked into a fixed income. Besides its really a low life practice to take money away from their elderly workers who kept GM number one for decades. You need managers that have ideas who are worth what they are paid. Instead of a bunch of fat dummies with no answers but bankruptcy to try and unload as much debt as they can. Now I really thought that people who never paid me or only paid me half of what they owed were low life trash. Is that the reputation GM wants to take to the future. Very sad approach to solving tuff issues. As far as Fritz makeing 1.3 million a year and his only answer was bankruptcy he would have been on the street before he got the words out of his mouth.

A friend of mine worked at Gm, Detroit as a supervisor and was given the job of finding solutions to problems on the caddy cst. He had a problem with the finished sheet metal, so he spoke with the operator of the machine, who worked there some 20 years, and the guy had a very viable solution to the problem, when my friend told them of his thoughts on the soulution they were impressed until he told them that he spoke with the operator and the fix was his suggestion, then they laughed at him and spent 250,000 buying a new machine, which produced the same bad results.
