California has no right to ban trans fats in restaurants or in retail baked goods ["Health Buzz: California Trans Fats Ban and Other Health News" usnews.com].

The government has no right to dictate to restaurants and other outlets what food they can or cannot sell, and it has no right to dictate to individuals what food they can or cannot buy. Individuals should be free to judge for themselves what foods to eat, including if and when to eat foods with trans fats.

If people can eat trans fat, they can do heroin.

I don't care which way it goes, really, but I vote an all-or-nothing policy. No trans fat? No smoking. Trans fat? Then stop the drug war.
