It is refreshing to see the changes and updates to school buses to promote online connectivity for kids with long commutes ["This Bus Is Plugged In," January 21].
The additions to the vehicles are admirable and innovative. Unfortunately, it seems a major tragedy will have to occur before another exotic special feature is added to school buses: seatbelts.

While I applaud the idea of children using the time during transport to/from school for educational value, I also question the safety of sitting aside, into the aisle of the bus as shown. In sudden stops, a passenger would be even more likely to fly out, than if properly seated with legs inside the seat area. No matter how seated, an opened computer would serve as a flying object indeed if there was a sudden stop or accident.
