How can I order this book that has been advertised in your magazine for months?

David Pengra of TX 10:19PM October 21, 2008

Dear Editor,

The photograph showing a Union soldier stamping the Confederate flag presented in the first few pages of your magazine exploring the Civil War in the United States "Secrets of the Civil War", I believe is very inappropriate.

I am not a citizen of the United States but I serve in the Texas National Guard. In my 3 years of service as a Guardsman and Active Duty in Iraq during 2006, the military outdoes civilian institutions in removing regional bias among our soldiers. Your publishing that photograph does nothing but reinstate that bias among the people who fight to preserve the dignity of this nation.

From a statutory standpoint, you have every right to publish that photograph, but, if such a photograph has a tendency to foment humiliation among people who love this country, I believe a responsible publishing company as yourself will be looking out for our collective best interest by withdrawing the stated photograph from publication.

To understand the nature of human beings that makes us fight for honor and love for our homes, I would strongly recommend to direct your energies which I dare say needs a good deal of gumption to depict the saga of the Southern United States community harassed by the carpet-baggers and vicious politicians who were exploited due to the void created by the Civil War.

Please take every opportunity to bring people together. I have traveled on road close to 2/3rds of United States to understand the sensitivities of what the Civil War means to its demographics to recommend, on subjects such as this, please tread carefully.

Regards,
