Why Do Police Treat 'Occupy-ers' Like Terrorists, Not Tea Partyers?
Tweet Share on Facebook October 19, 2011 Comment (31)I have always marveled at the power of one; one person, one vote, one voice….you get the point.
I am impressed by the voice and power of one Sergeant Shamar Thomas; a decorated Marine who stood with the "Occupy Wall Street" protest and said to the police:

Why Herman Cain Scares Me
Tweet Share on Facebook October 12, 2011 Comment (48)When Herman Cain said he was on the GOP panel of candidates for the presidency for comic relief, I laughed, because I thought "this guy's a joke." But he isn't. The polls show he is gaining more and more acceptance and popularity among those on the right; and, the facts show, this man is dangerous.

With Chris Christie Out, GOP Should Embrace Mitt Romney
Tweet Share on Facebook October 5, 2011 Comment (6)And the answer is….the same it has been all along folks!
I have a confession to make: I am not running for president. It doesn't feel right. OK, I jest; but Chris Christie wasn't. Tuesday he made the announcement again, and again, and again--you get my point--that he is not running for president, much to many Republicans' disappointment.

Blame Greed, Not Obama For Rise In Health Insurance Premiums
Tweet Share on Facebook September 29, 2011 Comment (20)It's Obama's fault
Isn't everything? I can’t believe what I am hearing and reading. Insurance companies are raising their premiums and, of course, that is President Obama's fault. It's that damn "Obamacare." Ah, no, it isn't.

Pat Robertson's Alzheimer's Divorce Comments Demean Marriage
Tweet Share on Facebook September 21, 2011 Comment (13)Pat Robertson has made some pretty crazy remarks. Remember the "hit" he wanted us to take out on Hugo Chavez?! Yes, the self-proclaimed leader of the moral majority, former presidential candidate, and television talk host on the 700 Club. But Robertson is also a pastor, a man who claims to believe that the Bible is the word of God. So imagine my and so many others' surprise when he spoke of divorcing a spouse with Alzheimer's because they're pretty much dead anyway?! (Remember "'til death do us part?" It certainly gives a new slant to that notion.)

No Need for Obama to Condemn Hoffa’s ‘SOB’ Remark
Tweet Share on Facebook September 7, 2011 Comment (31)That's not in my job description…
That's how the president should've responded to angry right wing and Tea Party Americans calling on him to ask for Jimmy Hoffa, leader of The Teamsters Union, to either quit, or for the president to condemn his remarks when Mr. Hoffa told a group of union members at a labor day rally to "take these [SOBs] out and give America back..."

Jobs Plan is Obama's Best Hope for Re-Election
Tweet Share on Facebook August 31, 2011 Comment (8)Americans want to hear that four letter word…JOBS.
I just came back from vacation. I was lucky enough, due to an airline's inept scheduling and my brother working for a major hotel chain, to go to Italy completely gratis. In Italy, as in most of Europe, things seemed much like here in the United States: people complaining about the cost of items, consumerism down, people losing their homes and many wondering when they would see more jobs and the economy turn around.

Wisconsin Voters Should Have Gotten It Right the First Time
Tweet Share on Facebook August 10, 2011 Comment (19)Four of six GOP state senators held onto their seats in a recall election Tuesday in Wisconsin. Now I love the democratic process and feel it's not only a right, but a privilege and obligation to vote.
So when I look at the Wisconsin recall election, it begs me to ask…

With the Debt Ceiling Deal, America Has Been Played
Tweet Share on Facebook August 3, 2011 Comment (19)Oh what a tangled web we weave…
The deal is done. The House passed it, the Senate passed it and the president signed it. Done deal, debt ceiling raised. So, we can all sigh a huge relief right? Er, not really.

With Speech, Obama Handled the Debt Ceiling Crisis Like a President
Tweet Share on Facebook July 27, 2011 Comment (14)The president reminded us of who's in charge
Monday night, after the president's speech, Chris Matthews, a guy who professes to be a liberal but about whom I must admit I have my doubts, stated the following: "The president should not have gone on national television to give a political address."
