The Failures in the Ohio School Shootings
Tweet Share on Facebook February 29, 2012 Comment (5)When I was a little girl, my mother used to sit in her car directly across from where I waited for the bus to go to our town's public school. I was embarrassed and wanted her to leave. The kids made fun of me. The bus stop was around the corner from our house, why was my mother so over protective? What was she worried about? What was she afraid of?

Those are the exact words of last year's top intelligence official in the Air Force who planned the air campaigns in Afghanistan and the Gulf War, General David Deptula when speaking as to whether Israel should strike Iran.

Obama's Energy Policy Isn't 'Crony Capitalism'
Tweet Share on Facebook February 17, 2012 Comment (8)The president's approval rating is up to 50 percent again. Unemployment has dropped consecutively for four months. Congress doesn't have anything left to filibuster and Republicans are unhappy with their choices in candidates....so what do Republicans do? They jump onto a Washington Post article and come up with an ad to paint the president as a hypocrite who gives federal funding to his campaign donors.

The Problems With the Catholic Church and Birth Control
Tweet Share on Facebook February 9, 2012 Comment (28)On January 20, when Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius issued a final rule requiring that all women have access to free preventive care services, including contraceptives, the heat from congressional leaders, Republican presidential candidates, and Catholic groups increased. Time to Rally Behind President Barack Obama
Tweet Share on Facebook February 1, 2012 Comment (20)Former Gov. Mitt Romney won Florida; no big surprise. He's the guy who's going to be standing on the platform across from the president come November. Now that doesn't make me or many in the White House happy, as Romney appeals to some independents and centrists who I believe will determine the outcome of the presidential election, as well as the seats up for grabs in the House and the Senate. And this is why, now more than ever, those of us who call ourselves liberals or progressives or Democrats need to unite. We need to back our president. We need to stop whining and complaining that we didn't get enough "hope" or "change." You can bet the Republicans—who even still are "anyone but Romney"—will at the end of the day throw their support to a guy they wouldn't have asked for a dance, and they'll give him their vote for president.
